I finally have this release ready. It has been the most frustrating thing I have created for The Sims 4. After my first two methods failed, I ended up making a lot trait that will handle the active photoshoots. The AWE Photo Studio lot trait can be applied to any AWE Studio, Generic Venue, or Arts Center (from City Living EP). There will be a photographer from the AWE Photographer career spawn and stand near the "In a Flash Photo Studio" ready to take pictures.

To start the shoot, click on the photo studio and choose "Get Photoshoot" to select the photographer. Both Sims will move into position and the interface to take the photos will pop-up. Each session has a limit of 5 photographs. You can get them from the photographer, by clicking on them, then choosing "Ask for Photos" under the AWE menu. They are transferred one at a time, so it will take multiple interactions to get them all. It is up to you what outfit the Sim is wearing or not wearing, so choose whatever you want before staring the shoot.

Different orientations and sizes will show up in different spaces. If all of the photos you take are the same size and orientation, then they will appear as a single stack.

After you pick one of the items in the picker, the photographer will hand a package to the player's Sim and the item will transfer to their inventory.

The Get to Work EP is required for the photo studio. Poses have been selected from Get to Work and Moschino SP. If you don't have the SP, then those poses won't show up. Tibo131 has also made some model poses that will show up if you install that file. As part of a collaboration for this feature, he is also working on some poses for male models. I have already included the information for them, so once he releases the poses, they will appear when selecting a pose.

Photos have been added to the possible items to sell via the AWE store for streamers and actors. Using the "Upload to Simstagram" feature on photos will increase your AWE follower numbers. I also increased the number of followers gained for the activities that result in getting new ones.
