Launcher got QoL improvements

On Thursday, an update for WreckMP launcher rolled out, bumping its version to v1.1.6. Most importantly it changed all links pointing to Nexusmods to the new download page, and fixed some cosmetic issues, such as the branch selector would be misaligned after the mod was uninstalled.

Aside from that, the launcher was made even easier to install by tweaking the way it searchs for the game. It now doesn't matter whether you place it directly in the game folder, or on your desktop, as you will just tell the launcher where MSC is if it doesn't find it by itself.

Cosmetic tweaks weren't the only improvements, several minor bugs were fixed, including a bug that was haunting quite a few people - ERROR OCCURED DURING MOD DOWNLOAD. If the launcher connected to the servers without issues, but failed downloading, fear less, as this issue is now fixed! (And even if you'd somehow manage to still get the error, you can now use the manual update package afterwards)

New launcher update check

An issue with the previous launcher version is that if we would post an update like usual, the launcher will popup a message box saying that it's out of date and will send you to the download page. That sounds good, right? Well, not quite, as it will send you to Nexusmods page, which is taken down. Since we can't put up a custom message on the taken down page, this would confuse a lot of people.

In order to resolve this, launcher v1.1.5 will never detect that it's outdated. In order to make sure that the users who have no idea about this change get the latest launcher as well, we have come up with a backup plan.

With the next WreckMP update, on startup, if it detects that you have installed launcher of version older than v1.1.6, instead of the game opening, a special webpage will open, explaining that they need to update their launcher, and why is the update offered in such an unconventional way. Even through this way is not exactly ideal, we believe it's the best we can do at the moment, rather than confusing everyone by making the launcher tell people to get an update from a taken down site.
