Control panel got a new tab! October is here, and still even through my time is limited, WreckMP is progressing further! Basic voice chat settings have been added to the panel, so let's go over them:
Voice mode: Simple toggle between Push to talk and always on
Push to talk key: Bind your PTT key to whatever you prefer, default: Left Alt
Walkie talkie key: Similar like the one above, but for walkie talkie mode, which basically allows you to talk to your friend even if he's in the city. Default: Right Alt
Input gain: Boost your microphone volume by up to 50 times (use with caution though)
Voice color: Moving slider to the right lowers "boominess" of your mic
Input sensitivity: When using always on, your voice won't be transferred when it's quieter than this value, to save bandwidth. Find a balanced value where it cuts out idle noise but still triggers when you speak
Playback your voice: Easy feature to hear how others hear you, allowing easy tweaking of the above options
Features left to be implemented are voice effects, such as your voice muffling when you wear a helmet.
The overall logic still needs a little tweaking for the first VC version, but don't worry! This week beta branch will most likely get an update featuring first version of the voice chat.
