Negative Gains

Instead of adding $112 last month, I actually LOST a dollar compared to July's pledges, which puts us one measly buck short of the mark where I continue posting Springfield .. apparently she drove serious patrons away instead of attracting them like I had hoped. Anyway, Springfield is paused until that dollar comes back .. maybe soon, because supposedly some payments are still processing.
Also, my 2nd commission spot has been hogged all month by a scammer who sat there and never asked for anything and then (surprise surprise) didn't pay. This annoys me for three reasons: 1. It deprives me of the money I could have gotten from a real person, 2. it takes the commission away from somebody who might have actually wanted it, and 3. the dollar amount is significant enough to throw off my goal / reward tiers. As an additional annoyance, the fake patron is marked as "fraud" in my patrons list YET THEY ARE STILL BEING COUNTED AS A COMMISSION PATRON, causing commissions to be "sold out" and continuing to prevent anyone else from getting in. Hopefully the system will sort this out in a few days. If not, I must find out how to fix it myself - if I can.
I was pretty much expecting this to happen, and was going to use it to justify switching my account to "pay up front," which will not affect my existing patrons but will require new pledges to pay right away. This would effectively weed out scammers & bots .. BUT THE PAY UP FRONT OPTION HAS DISAPPEARED FROM MY PAYMENT SETTINGS SCREEN. Can't find it. I know it was there before. I'm hoping it was disabled because we're still so close to payday, and it will come back later. Fingers crossed, because if this nonsense keeps happening every month it will have a ruinous effect on my morale.

You are this month's hero!! It's possible you were charged because we are still in the billing period (which could also be why pay-up-front is hidden right now.) I will keep watching as the month progresses.

Seeing whole tiers disappear like that is extremely annoying. But if this behaviour annoys you... I'll lower it again and you can ignore that tier for this one month 😅

You should have less frauds right now. Also do try and contact the Patreon support about the frauds. They are quite serious about that. 😉

I'm seeing both slots still full, one with a legitimate patron and one with the fraudbot (whom I guess I will kick out in a couple of days after the payday dust settles, if Patreon doesn't do it automatically). Anyway you might want to hang on because I'm considering a cheap pseudo-commission tier once I figure out pricing and what exactly it should include.

I don't know why it would be hard to implement, but there are an awful lot of things I don't know, so I guess something about it is tricky to get working right.

2017-09-02 03:13:30 +0000 UTCFriggin fraudulent patrons. As I'm reading this, both slots opened up for commissions. I'll consider changing to that tier later tonight when I get out of work since I've been wanting to commission you for a while. Hopefully things will get better from here for you.

2017-09-01 20:47:16 +0000 UTCIt's normal in the beginning of the month to lose patrons, hopefully over the next few days more accounts will be charged and that amount will go up. Also, you can manually blocked the fraudulent account, which I think will remove them and free up your commission slot.
