They are from way back, early in the "Ballad." Mavis MacFogg is Adler's mother, and Utica the Huntress was his archery teacher. Sheila na Gig was an apostate Mephitist priestess who was exiled to the lowfolk world. She established a Wiles academy, and later was seen in Zandar's Saga as "She-Who-Commands", the guildmistress of the prostitutes' guild.
