The power supply I used with it before provides 5v at 1A, and there should have been 1A available out of that USB module .. unless it divides them up evenly, which means there would only be 250mA per socket .. but that's silly, who would do it that way? You send the total amperage to all jacks so the devices can pull the current they need, up to the maximum. My only guess at this point is either there ISN'T 1A for some reason, or it isn't modulated in a way that my camera wants (not data ports). My other devices that I've powered from there have all been synth devices. This is the only "consumer electronics" device I've tried connecting to it.

Also that thing works on a very low power to get powered via just 4 USBs (okay... even if it did not work) And you're welcome. Though i still feel like i should say i'm the one being thankful.
