A squawking setup

Trog surprised me with those bird noises.

I've figured out what the 8-Bit Cipher does.  It is a digital shift register.  On each clock pulse it samples the input, using a comparator (1v threshold?) to determine whether the signal is "on" or "off."  This value is entered as Bit 1, and all previously saved bits are shifted over one position.  There are 9 gate outputs representing the 8 bits, plus a "Super Serial" bit that is always the same as Bit 8 (unless "FREEZE" is engaged, which stops everything except the Super Serial output).  The 4 CV outputs I have confirmed send out different patterns, so I assume they take the bits in slightly different combinations, and convert them to voltages on a scale of 256 possible values.  The circuit designer's descriptions are notoriously vague, but he also mentions there is a feedback loop which uses XOR logic to combine the input with the output.  I think this only occurs if the left input jack is unpatched.

All i got to say is... "Eeeeeeeerie!" okay, it's useless feedback, but i liked the result and i don't feel like i have meaningful questions here. 🤔👍💖
