A brisk sea breeze seems to be blowing but this poses no threat to an unlikely-looking picnic platter in the foreground (which Joyce rather lamely tried to hide behind some bushes.) There is a bucket of ice slightly behind and to the babe's right; she reaches toward it with her right hand, which is clutching a raggedy straw hat that's totally incongruous and looks like it was added later. I have taken the liberty of restoring what I think our beach beauty was originally holding.
