Those of you who watch my videos will have already heard this, and seen it being performed. For the rest of you, what you're hearing is a simple chord progression on a tenor guitar which I recorded into BASTL MicroGranny (a lo-fi granular sampler.) I set the MicroGranny to scan backward through the sample, and that's providing the looping chord bed. I also simultaneously recorded the tenor guitar part onto a cassette tape (remember those?) and I'm manually twirling the tape in a Landscape HC-TT (Human Controlled Tape Transport.) The melody is played with my other hand on a Modal CraftSynth 2.0 (very tiny digital synthesizer.)
This audio file is dubbed directly off the video, which was recorded "live" in a single take.
