One thing I know about chess: It's not over til it's over (technically it's not over til I lose; that's how I was taught to play it and is one reason I dislike the game), so despite Adler taking a few pieces early on, Frostheart could still win. And yes, Adler would still be scoffing at chess even if he was losing. In fact he'd scoff MORE!
