I contacted the Help desk and they must have hired some new staff because their first response was not to deny the problem existed! Instead they said "it seems there is a problem with gif images in browsers that we do not support" with no indication that there will be any attempt to fix it. They named Chrome, Firefox, and Edge as supported browsers. If you're using an adblocker, RHüz stated above that it might be interfering with gif files now because of some coding change. You could try viewing in an incognito window, or "whitelist" Patreon so adblock will be off when you are here. I did that years ago - I don't remember why, but I'm sure it was because of some performance issue. There are no ads on my Patreon pages.
