I use upholstery foam because normal fiber pillow-stuffing would escape through the holes in the crochet work. The resulting form is a combination of the foam and the yarn; one must cut the foam to the approximate shape, and then the outer shell will compress it to a smooth contour. I added a few slices of thinner foam to round out the finished piece, shown on the right. Stuffing was inserted through an incision I left in the back and stitched shut when I was done. This will be hidden when I add the hips & butt later.
Now that the core is finished, I'm feeling confident she is going to look great! Boobs will be next. Prepare yourself.
