2022-01-15 14:30:52 +0000 UTCFor everyone that didnt see my explaination in the first doodlepost of the month, as the caretaker of the Old Misty River, the Mistreed line joins the Wild Hunt, which was moved from december to january because of increased global interest in folktales and cryptids, and thus, an increased volume in monster hunters. As scary as being in the wild hunt would be for a regular mortal like Ivor, he probably would have liked it alot less if they actually stumbled upon a wanderer during their ride. Things that don't run and hide tend to end up hunted. also i have this kind of logic in my head that one of the bigger deciding factors in moving the wild hunt to january was the immediate effect after someone challenged a peasant who wouldnt get out of the hunt's way to a contest of strength involding a tug of war with a chain. The peasant tied the chain to a tree and was rewarded for his "apparent strength" by accepting the meat of a butchered deer which turned into gold as soon as he got home. Thereafter, a large string of mass dissapearance of people (from the peasant telling the story of how he was suddenly very rich) forced the [ambiguous authority here, probably the holy roman empire or the vatican or van helsings great great great grandparent or something] to hire out monster hunters.
