December 1st 2021 - Update

Hi everyone, just wanted to drop a little update here to keep you all in the loop. First of all I just want to thank you all for the amazing reception to the Survivor Redux Demo that was released recently. It's been awesome to finally share it with you all and let you try a basic version of what I've been busting my butt off working on over the last 2 months. Huge shout out to my buddy 3lric for helping with the masking though, that was quite an undertaking in itself so please make sure to give him some love!

Secondly, if you check the pictures on this post you'll see I've updated my RE1 Modding Tool 'REgenerator' with some additional features such as message editing and eventually 2D sprite editing. The cool thing about this is that it allows you to modify text in the game not just for PC versions, but also console versions of the game! That means you can create messages a lot easier for PSX and utilise various important features such as colours and also having messages disappear after a set amount of time. This is used for things like subtitles during cutscenes and also other timing related events.

Finally, I just want to thank you all once again for your continued support... It really means the world to me... As I've always said since day once, It's never required, never expected but ALWAYS appreciated... I'm going to be getting back into 'Resident Evil: Containment - Episode 2' next and that will be the focus over the next month. I'm gonna be trying to make this one just as exciting and 'different' as Episode 1 was.

Hey buddy, the reason for that is that some enemies use sprites which aren't in some rooms, an example of this is the spider. If you place one in a room where there normally isn't one, it will crash when they go to shoot their venom at you as that sprite is not inside the .RDT file. So what you need to do, is open up an .RDT that has the spider, copy the EFFECT folder into the new room you're editing, and ALSO make sure to copy the Effect information from the .INI file of the spider room into your new one, then recompile the .RDT and it should work just fine. Hey aydan iv been trying to use the modding tool and I can manage to add the enemy data to a room but how do I add the sprite? As when I try to load the room I get a error something like tim24 missing? Sorry to bother with this lol never modded anything but decided to play with the tool you made πŸ˜€
