Save Our Ship V2.3 Out Now!

What was the end of RimWorld's story is now only the beginning!

This major update adds Ship to Ship Combat and many new features related to it, as well as fixes dozens of issues users had with SOS 2.0.

Ships now obviously have weapons and shields. This is a massive change from 2.0 where your ship was effectively a mobile base, able to go to a new RimWorld which acts as a new save game. (Thus the name Save Our Ship.)

What was the end of RimWorld's story is now only the beginning! Learning to survive in space is a challenge. You essentially need to bring everything with you. Food, fuel resources, entertainment, and your people & pets.  SOS provides new artificial substrate for space farming and asteroids to mine, as well as new sources of power, heat management, cryptosleep caskets.  

Enemies will attempt to board your ship, and you can obviously board them right back. 

It is now possible to capture enemy ships and bring them back to your own ship, either to take as your ow, keep as a pet, deconstruct for resources, or land it on the planet below. 

There are 4 types of weapons in SOS V2.3.

Lasers

Plasma Cannons

Railguns

Torpedoes

Each of those come in 3 sizes as well: Small, Large, and Huge Spinal Weapons. 

Shields protect your ship, and consume power and produce heat when struck. You must build heat sinks to absorb this heat and radiators to vent it to space.

And finally, we developed an SOS Creation Kit (SOSCK) that allows you to build your own ship in development mode and export that ship as an XML file which you may share with other players. All they have to do is drop the file into their ShipDef folder, and that ship is added to the list of AI vessels that can attack the player.
