Polling Patrons with a UI/UX Question

I'm trying to come up with a system to communicate to players that they can:

A -- Build whole "prefab" structures by dragging them out.

B -- Build individual walls, roofs, floors, doorways.

C -- Swap the individual parts of prefabs for whatever material they like.

It's a lot of information, and I *think* it makes sense already. But does that confuse anyone here?

Yeah, we can probably fit in an animated visual demo in the tooltip/tutorial ticker when first building. :)

I agree, and that's my main concern too. The roofing is the big one. For now it just comes "free" with no additional labor or cost. We are expanding with different roof types in the future but for now they'll all be squared off like this. Overwriting walls is already pretty sophisticated but roofs will be another layer of intrigue. A neat visual tutorial animation in game like this one might be called for.

I think it should be ok, there is a chance that people who have never seen a game with this building style won't notice that you can replace over walls untill they accidentally overlap a existing wall and see it turn green (I've seen lesser stuff be overlooked by people in other games) but that will likely be a one time issue.(but might warrant a first-use info window)

I think that does a fine job at doing what you need it to do
