Character Generation! Set your origin!
Added 2021-05-09 04:11:36 +0000 UTCThere is a lot of information each character is carrying around with them in Morningstar. When and where they were born, what faction they belong to, their name, age, sex, appearance -- even their language and religion, let alone skills and stats.
That's also a lot to throw at a first time player!
Trying to avoid it feeling like a form being filled out at the DMV is a challenge. So to help, I've made it paginated, added a ton of visual value including visual map and skill icons, and a progress bar at the bottom to help navigate.
A lot of this is still loreum ipsum before we hook the backend to this neat frontend, but it's getting there. Don't want to commit to a version til it really fits and has the least amount of junk for the most amount of impact. This will probably be my May, as it's a very involved and crucial UI. if I'm lucky I also get to start the world overview as well.

Yeah, haha! I only wanted maybe 10 or 12, ended up with 13 because I broke Iceland and Greenland off from each other. :p Will probably evolve this as I go. New Zealand & Australia are together, Pacific islands on their own, Middle east, East Asia, West Asia aren't grouped together... There's room to improve while staying simple!
2021-05-09 18:14:26 +0000 UTCmaking the british isles one location eh? hahaha I don't see an issue with that, because there's a whole bunch of other places that are getting grouped together so I don't see it as being a big deal (especially if you give it extra context by giving it a weird name like "the confederated islands of Guernsey and smaller regions" or something) you might get a little bit of bother from the internet weirdos though :P the whole system is looking super swish so far, it's very nice indeed!
