The four main factions in Morningstar are established with hundreds or thousands of years of history, religion, and culture by the time you arrive. Each faction has a unique style, but not every member of the population has the same status or level of wealth.
To display that, we've begun drawing concept art of the outfits our various tiers of each culture wear

These four cultures have various themes that are often at odds with one another, and various independent sub-factions that may take some ideas but not others with them into their independent city-states.
Color is a commodity in Morningstar, sold as Dye.

Dye powders are found across the Fragment, and typically come from plants, animals, or minerals. The rarest are the most expensive blacks, blues, and purples, with oranges, reds, greens being more common.

Dye traders and merchants will carry these items, and when combined with textiles, will produce much more valuable clothing. Much more valuable than the dye and fabric in the case of the rare dyes.

Several dies can be added for the most expensive, high quality outfits.
Members of a culture with high wealth come to expect the best finery, with top and bottom layers, belts, and jewellery. Failing this lowers their mood and willingness to remain in your a camp.
Meanwhile, the lowest members of a society, the thralls, prisoners, slaves, nomads, and servants, will typically wear plane clothes with minimal colors and usually only a belt and simple tunic. They remain stylistically unique, but the more dull, the lower the class of the wearer.
Most of the people on Morgana live in a relative state of poverty compared to the ruling elites. They will be who you interact with the most, so we've taken time to really flesh them out and make them look stunning, even though they are at a drab station in life.
