Online Digital Livestream cheki session with idols?

Hello all. Got an idea... just curious about what everybody thinks of doing online livestreamed personalized cheki sessions with idols?

How it works is like this: I can set up one day this month where I can reserve a space here in Japan and get several idol groups to come to that room, one after the other, and do personal signed cheki sessions with foreign fans via livestream.

I would select the groups, then set up pre-order for their cheki on Idol Underworld. Then the idols would sign each of the cheki you order and talk with you via livestream. We would do it via Idol Underworld's discord channel, which has been set up (and more details on that coming).

The catch is that I would need to get at least 20 cheki per member per group for this to be worth the amount of money I would have to put into it and also make it worthwhile for the idols. I mean, in terms of how much this will cost to setup, I would not be making any money from this at all (but that's okay). If you guys think you can do knock this out of the park for the idols, I can set it up.

The groups I would ask to do this (because I know they will probably do it if I ask) are below. I would need to make sure EACH member got no less than 20 cheki each, but by all means, if you want to do more with the members, they would be open to that. I mean, honestly, if you want to do 100 cheki with a group, they'll do it. We all are hurting really bad now with so many cancellations of lives, but this would be a good way to supplement the incomes until we can get back the business of idoling in Tokyo.

Let me know your thoughts.

Groups to do this:

Merry Bad End

Satanic Punish

Okinawa Electric Girl Saya

Zombie Powder

Last Question

Aphrodite

Hissatsu Emomomomox7

Non

Bury

Odoro

Kiss Hug Extreme

Rino Oishi

I can do it with some or all of these.

So let me know who you would want out of this group to do cheki. Give me your list in order of the most wanted... and then how many cheki you think you can do per idol. If I see good numbers, I will get this going. Let me know guys, and hope we can make idols have a chance to connect with all of you out there and you can connect with them! It can be a cool way to do cheki with idols all the way here in Japan!

ahhhh, that was what I was looking for, both Peter and Johan! I'll put up a pre-order for cheki on Idol Underworld, like a livestream cheki item, and then if I reach a 60% threshold for the group or idol, I'll do the livestream. I'll also let everybody know the date beforehand so people can know if they'll be able to attend the livestream or not. Either way, you'll get a signed cheki, whether you attend or not, and it will be personally signed to you. As for the number of cheki, I'll drop that down to a certain number per group. I'll ask the groups what their threshold is for how many cheki they want to sell to agree to this. That's the best I can do. Good, good, goood brainstorming on this guys. I will see Merry Bad End today and I can start with them and Satanic Punish, and probably Non. We'll go from there. Thanks!

I like this idea because of a specific reason I won't get into publically, but I also dislike this idea for a specific reason I can get into. That's a lot of guaranteed chekis to spring on people. You might want to do a test run with one group with a smaller amount of members like Merry Bad End to see how it goes. But even then that's 60 chekis you need to sell. I mean you could always make it an incentive rather than a promise. As in, "If we sell 60 pre orders of this cheki set we'll stream it live." And if you only sell 40 then tough luck. People will still get their chekis that they paid for in the mail but it won't be live. If that makes sense. I mean I know whales exist, but this is a lot to ask for people. I mean if you start doing 2 or 3 groups for 4 or more members each that's an astronomical amount of chekis that need to be sold. I really like the idea, but a test run should be done first. I mean the easiest test run would be Non (or Saya or I suppose Rino). That's one person. She also sells very well. Hell if you did it with Non, I'd buy 10 right now. But she's also one person so it would be easier to get the required sales. Anyway great idea, and I'd love to help you with it when you eventually get around to it, if you know what I mean.

Although I really like the idea and I see a lot of support for it let me express a more down to earth view, not to criticize the idea (because it's great) but more as a an extra thought. - First problem I run into is just the sheer amount of chekis required, are you confident that you/they can sell that much? A solution to this would be a sort of reservation system where people can opt in for a certain day and a time slot and after you have enough reservations you can start planning the stream/shoot or cancel if there isn't enough interest. For example: On a Saturday at xxx jst time. This would also give you a way to give a chance to fans from different time zones. - second thing I see is your habit to do things for free, I know you love idols and they probably like what you do for them (seeing your previous post I wont comment here about there management) but there is absolut no reason you should invest your time into this for nothing. I don't say you should ask money from idols or fans if that isn't something you want or they can't afford, you could instead ask for example for the right to be the sole seller for the first month of a new single release or some exclusive merch. Another idea I want to throw your way (but this would probably require a bit more of an investment): I am a big fan of Kamen Joshi and they have a site called liveone.jp where fans can talk(fans type, idol are streaming) with the members that are online for a per minute fee (fans buy points and then spent those points per minute to talk, current fee is 100yen a minute). If you have the recourses and the interest is there then you could set up a similar service.

Hell yeah. This sounds like an exciting venture right here. Was curious how virtual cheki worked! I’d be in, no surprises on the list order ZP, Santanic punish, MXE. All cool to just support. With a little bit of lead up time I’m sure a lot of folks would sign up for a good few. It’s like getting a kill list all in one event!

Either way I'd probably buy quite a bit of chekis

I will see what they think is a good number. It could work potentially even with lower numbers.

I'd say 10, but that also feels like a disservice to them. Maybe 15? This is a really difficult question. But it would also depend on price, like a higher amount for less money, or a lower amount for more.

Jorge Montelongo

ah, fair point, fair point. Maybe drop that number down then? What do you think is a good number?

I really like the idea, but I feel that it would be pretty difficult for the larger groups (like emo7) to get 20 chekis per member. I think we would need like 2 weeks at least to really get these idols to chekis, definitely doable though.

Well*

I'll look at it as soon as I'm back home... At the office now... And for the funds we'll there's always something to work out 😉

a live would mean paying for a live house or a place to do the live and that's where it gets more expensive and more difficult... but not entirely impossible. We could see about streaming from a practice studio, but again... I'll have to look into it.

And how about a live stream on a pay per view base????... Kinda like charging a little fee to get access to view a let's two or three man live.... And afterwards having an online buppan.... 😅
