A little bit of trivia - the movie is mostly shot in Wells in Somerset rather than Gloucestershire. Sandford is a fictional town used in police training exams/scenarios. I watched this in the cinema when it came out with an ex-girlfriend who was a police officer at the time. She was the only person to laugh when the location was mentioned, everyone thought she was mental :D

It's hilarious, and I love the way the scenes kind of flow together, and all the repetition (not sure that's the right word, but hopefully you know what I mean). I think those are all Edgar Wright, right? Really hope you do Shaun of the Dead at some point, and I think you mentioned Die Hard as well? That would be cool, but it's more of a Christmas movie imo. Have you seen the Naked Gun movies, or The Man Who Knew Too Little? If not, they might be worth adding to the list.. I think the comedy is pretty similar to this.

Level of attention to details in his movies is incredible. On that note I hope you have also Top Secret (1984) somewhere on the "to watch" list, since you enjoyed Airplane. That one is even more "random" and may be right up your alley. Same directors, similar kind of humor.
