General Update CW09/2022

Hello cat pack!

Time flies as always and I feel like the world moves faster than ever.
A lot is happening all around and I wanted to capture some thoughts.

First off, I hope everyone is safe... the situation in the Ukraine is bothersome and dependent on where you live it can have tremendous impact.

I would see myself as partially affected, though luckily I am not dreadfully close to the warzone.
While ukrainians of course are the biggest victim, there is no doubt that russian people are also suffering almost as much under this terrible attack.

I will leave my opinion on this at that, but the reason I mention it, is because I want to take this opportunity to decide on where the next donation goes -> some relief effort for the Ukraine.
I am happy to take suggestions on organisations which supply help, otherwise I would be very happy for any insider information on how to contribute.

The last few weeks I have been trying to find more direct connections to wire money (like people going there) but there wasn't a good chance to chip in.
Donating to a big organisation might have the downside that not all of the money makes it to the people in need, but if I can't find a better solution I will do it anyway.

Back to the topic of this patreon though.
As I mentioned, there have been two developments since my last post and I want to catch up on both of them.

Firstly moving between apartments is almost done and I have picked up work on this project again.
There is a fair bit of progress in "Unforeseen consequences" and despite my previous believe I might be able to release something sooner than expected.
The only hickup right now is that I (again...) improved on some bits as I (again...) learned more about how to use Twine/CSS/Javascript, which means that I need to update all existing passages a little (mostly done/most was doable with find/replace, but I need to testplay everything and correct little bits still).

The things I learned brings me to my next topic though.
Like I mentioned, I contacted HiEv, who (as I found out after countless more hours of searching for solutions to my problems) is even more remarkable than I thought.
I haven't heard from him with any results to the tasks I had trouble with sadly, but I don't want to create pressure, so I will just wait patiently for him to contact me for now.

In the meantime I not onyl improved myself, but also got started with a shell for my next big project.
Though I won't dare to go much further until I have some feedback from him and make sure that the setup makes sense.

So as always, long story short:

Did some work on "Unforeseen consequences", have a prototype for a "real game" which I am awaiting help on from HiEv, have tons of ideas written down and can't wait to spend time to proceed with them.

Hope everyone stays safe!
