I've been planning to watch Earth Arcade for a while so I'm glad you're reacting to this haha! I view this series much like a spiritual successor to New Journey to the West (also a series from Na PD) since the format is mostly similar with the members travelling around based on a given storyline/theme while playing games for food and trying to win the main money prize, and it definitely didn't disappoint LOL It's just as chaotic (for all the right reasons) and I really like the chemistry between the girls from what I've seen so far! It's great that the girls are not afraid to be funny, I can imagine it only gets crazier from here considering that they are already acting like this in the first episode lmao I'll be waiting until there's a few more episodes before I start binge watching it with you, so thanks for the reactions in advance! xD

2025-04-20 03:41:10 +0000 UTCI am being a bit nitpicky but HYMILEEYECHAEPA was released the year after earth arcade. The success of earth arcade especially with an all female cast probably helped it get greenlit . Technically Yujins first solo show was her being the host of My little Television 2 .

He even tells her that this is not earth arcade during one game. Have to watch the first episode of earth arcade again but i am pretty sure they say that yujin was recommended by another pd who made mafia game in prison where she guested for a few episodes.

2025-04-17 13:31:02 +0000 UTC-DG on occasion you will have to watch the Starship game caterer with (IVE, WJSN, Monstax, Kwang-soo, K-will, Cravity) it is for me the best episode of the game caterer series. It is at this event that the producer Na met Yujin for the first time and it is for this reason that he cast her for Earth arcade. He saw her potential as an entertainer.

2025-04-17 13:14:15 +0000 UTC- YESSSSS so happy. Well honestly the concept of the show is a bit chaotic. I think even the production team didn't really know where to go with it. Let's say that to summarize the 4 girls will go on a trip to Thailand then change countries each season. The goal will be for them to carry out certain missions in order to win gifts in bulk to EAT and incidentally to capture Torong who will appear from time to time. Even if the concepts are different it's exactly the same vibe as HYMILEEYECHAEPA the 2 shows were released the same year. What made the show a huge success is its casting. The chemistry between the 4 girls is incredible. The relationship between the production team and the girls is hilarious too -the revelation of this show is An Yujin who also won a popularity award at the Baeksang awards it was her first show without the members of IZ*ONE or IVE. and her presence and her evolution has been amazing. At first she is shy but then she will become the major figure of the show (which is very hard when there are girls like Young-ji and Eun-ji) she will have several very sharp lines, and very popular passages are duets with Young-ji will carry everyone in her path. the show has also won several awards -the producer NA and Yujin have become very close since this show, he treats her like his own daughter. he promotes each of Yujin's or Ive's activities, he calls each other on the phone regularly, he helps her pass her permits. there is a lot of video content where we see them both -yes it is thanks to this show that Young-ji and Yujin became friends. in fact the 4 girls have become very close but this duo being the youngest and most chaotic of the show. The best laughs I had in this show were thanks to Yujin and Youg-ji. - Lee Eunji She's hilarious, a really good actress from the Big League Comedy Club. She'll play the role of big sister or leader of the group. Like Young-ji, she's very funny and very loud. Producer NA is going to get a headache because of these girls, LOL. - Mimi (Oh My Girl) Normally the star of the entertainment at Oh My Girl is Seughee, but thanks to Earth Arcade, Mimi has gained an incredible boost in popularity. Since this show, she's been invited everywhere. Lee Hyori's cosplay suits her very well, she's gorgeous. - An Yujin She'll be very shy at first, but will quickly gain confidence and outshine the more energetic members of the group. - Young-ji will have some improbable looks in this show. She'll be really raw without makeup or designer clothes. Since the girls are in Thailand and it's very, very hot, they're all going to be very natural, without too much makeup or too dressed up. -I'm going to love seeing this show again. My dream would be a special episode. Earth Arcade Girls vs. HYMILEEYECHAEPA Girls, an episode where they compete in games to win food.

Jeez, the energy is insane from the start 😅 They match very well. When they answered "Lady Gaga", I was like: "Yeah, she's an actress, but it also has 4 syllables...". Also this was filmed in 2022 around the “Love dive” era so Yujin was just debuted (or must I say ‘redebuted’). Eunji’s cosplay was Song Hyekyo (aka Moon Dong Eun from Glory), she looked very young at that time but she had a multiple hit dramas during that time and was considered as one of the most beautiful actress of all time). And the actor who gave Sushi in the drama they talked about in the van is Lee Dong Wook, Mr.Grim Reaper in the Goblin!!! Y2K concept was starting to gain some tractions but it was later fully blown up around 2022-2023 to this day. Also I think you will be fine with some snippets here and there, there wasn’t much of a spoiler and some contexts could also be lost so I don’t think you need to skip the preview that much. Anyway, I don’t know if there is any links/sites with English subtitles that will provide every contexts (probably because of time-consuming) but those wordplays they played in this episode can be a little bit confusing for some, and mostly depends on the sound to understand like ending the word with “-nal”, “-hyung” etc. which sometimes can mean anything else like the hyung in “Hodong-hyung”, “Sugeun-hyung” (both are hosts in Knowing Bros and had worked with Na PD before) in this context means “older brother” which was funny because “hyung” is used by men not women like Yujin so it went even better when they all started saying Youngsuk-hyung too to support Yujin’s argument. Some contexts like this can be hard for us foreigners but I think it will teach us about Korean little by little.
