- Mum to the rescue!
- So we're back to Jeju, huh?
- What you talk about is too real. There's good reason why I would lever loan money from certain family members.
- Yo, it's that one detective from Flower of Evil!
- And he seems like a complete asshole that would probably be really abusive husband to Ae-sun. Girl, get the fuck away from him!
- Eh, the actor of that guy that Ae-sun is supposed to marry is also 13 years older than IU. Still quite the age gap.
- Ae-sun, you won't find happiness in marriage with the old guy either. His whole vibe just SCREAMS domestic abuser. Trust me, you are way better off with Gwan-sik, even if you'll be struggling.
- Wild that you have IU playing both mother and daughter here.
- So wait, did she marry the old guy or what?
- Brutal. But I don't see a good solution to this predicament either. It's just the nature of their circumstances that won't allow them to be together.
- Either way, marrying that rude old fuck is not the way to go either. What does a guy in his 30s even want with a girl who just turned 18 anyway? Sounds like thinly veiled pedophilia if you ask me.
- Holy shit, this crazy motherfucker is actually swimming
- I'm so glad he came back. This would have been miserable if he didn't.
- Such happy moments with their newborn, yet such ominous foreshadowing in the narration.
- May 1969. Less than a year after my mother was born. And my grandma had her when she was only 20. So in a sense, Ae-sun and my grandma are actually pretty close in age. Just a weird little observation I just had
- The hat does look quite goofy, let's be real.
- Honestly, I don't care about what bad shit might be about to happen. It's just so nice to see two people be so genuinely in love with each other at this moment π₯°

It's so great to rewatch this. Things will get even more serious from now on. Also, fun fact about Geum-myeong, their first child. Geum actually means gold, so Gwan Sik really meant what he said about golden girl. He won in life, Geum-myeong is his and Ae Sun's treasure and gold.

This episode has probably my favourite ending sequence, with them reuniting in the rain and the reveal of their marriage/family at the end, it was so good. IU & Bogum really delivered an iconic performance here with both the scenes in the flower field that you mentioned and the scene after he jumped off the ship. We'll see those get referenced on Korean variety shows for years to come lol
