- As expected, Chappy is nowhere to be seen. But the fact that her dad pretends to not even know her is way more fucked up. - Yeah, Shizuka is too far gone. Just casually planning the murder of innocent children. - I am so confused. Is this a look into the past or an alternate timeline? - So I'm guessing Azuma being in love with Shizuka is yet another reason why Marina started bullying her? - But why the fuck is Marina's mum taking it out on her?? As I said before, this is a show about terrible parents. - Okay, alternate timeline. Still, what the actual fuck. - WHAT. HUH?!? - This show has been surprising me throughout but I didn't expect a mindfuck twist to rival Shutter Island?? - One detail I appreciate: they explicitly set this episode in 2022, making us think at first that this is three years in the past. But they never actually established a date for any of the previous episodes. That's why this twist of this being an alternate future that has been erased, works so well. You really don't suspect it until the very end. (and on a shameless promotional note, if you want more of that level of mindfuckery, you should definitely watch Dark 🤠) - As fucked up as Shizuka is now, she has also lost EVERYTHING, seemingly to the point of actual homelessness, so I can kind of understand her? - Takopi turned back time one final time, erasing himself in the process to let things play out naturally without his involvement. Neither with Shizuka in 2016, nor with Marina in 2022. Am I getting that right? - Ok, maybe not completely without Takopi's involvement. Just way more subtle this time. I honestly don't know what to say. This is one of the heaviest, darkest, and yet, most beautifully crafted stories I ever got to experience. How much they packed into such a short runtime is astonishing. You can't fix what wasn't meant to be fixed. Very well said. Some things just suck and there's nothing you can do about it. It's not your fault, it might not be anyone's fault. Life is just like that sometimes. The only thing we can do is be kind to each other. "Always try to be nice, but never fail to be kind" - The Twelfth Doctor, Doctor Who. I just thought of that quote and it felt fitting here. Thank you for introducing me to this show. Without your reactions, I might never have found out about this one. The last time I had my emotions shaken to this degree was when Lorna Shore released Pain Remains.

2025-08-07 21:09:27 +0000 UTCWow.. so Takopi sacrificed himself in the end, to repair the camera and take them all back in time one last time.. I'm so thrown back. And a little confused.. so, his original sin was being introduced to the concept of death? Not sure here.. lol But I love how the 3 retained some memory glimpses of Takopi, enough to make them bond over something they didn't fully understand, but definitely felt, and because of it, are able to cope with all the bad circumstances.. it doesn't solve their family problems (we can see that Marina still gets the scar on her face from her mother abusing her), but by being together instead of alone, they are able to survive it. I actually got emotional. What an incredible anime! I'm so glad to have watched this for the 1st time with you on a reaction, instead of on my own.. truly, thank you for sticking it to the end!
