TBH everyone clowns on JYP, there's a reason why his "half air, half sound" meme is still so well-known even though it's been almost 10 years xD I really feel like the crews were told not to give overly comprehensive feedback just so they can have more materials to do evil editing. They were also given rehearsal videos (without the proper edits) so it's likely that the transitions and formations come across as messy at first glance. I don't think it was explicitly mentioned within WSWF, but IMO it's reasonable to assume that they were probably given a set budget for the mission and it was up to the crews to source for their own director, lighting, etc. (You can see the credits at the end of the performance video) given that it's impossible for mnet to arrange the overseas logistics, anything else they probably need to pay out of their own pockets. About the minimum dancers required in previous season, I think you were talking about Jam Republic who had trouble with that as a lot of dancers were unavailable since it was dance competition season. I think that's the reason why there was no number and gender limit this time. I really liked all of the mega crew videos, but my favorite is probably a tie between Motiv and Bumsup. Marlee definitely succeeded in her motive (I'll show myself out, tysm heh) I'm not an American but I really felt the message behind the video, it also gave me huge Kendrick Lamar super bowl halftime show vibes, if you happened to watch that haha. But I do think mission-wise Bumsup won by a landslide because they had both the message and the mega crew essence we've always seen in the SWF/SMF series. Gabee was not part of the mega crew mission, but I forgot if it was because of her injury or that she's still busy promoting her song (yes she's in a group called JAESSBEE)! It's a shame that Rie wasn't able to compete with her crew due to her injury :(
