Launching the Reactor – What the Initial Beta Release Means for You
Added 2024-10-13 00:25:52 +0000 UTCCommanders:
Reactor Ops has officially entered its BETA phase! This is an exciting milestone as we take the first steps toward creating a tool that will make organizing and commanding your forces easier, more streamlined, and, most importantly, more fun.
The BETA release lets you explore the core features of Reactor Ops, including unit search, force creation, and analytics. It’s live for field testing, so you can start building your forces, optimizing your roster, and diving into the Tactical Overview to see how your forces stack up. While this is just the beginning, you’ll already notice how Reactor Ops simplifies some of the heavy lifting, allowing you to spend less time on prep and more time at the tabletop.
What’s Next?
As a Reactor Initiate, your support will help cover the essential monthly infrastructure costs that keep the app running smoothly as we scale. Your contributions will ensure Reactor Ops transitions from BETA to full operational readiness and enable us to implement new features.
In addition to supporting the app’s smooth operation, your contributions fund the work hours required to roll out these new features. This includes delivering the Lists module, the Lance Builder, and advanced unit and force analytics.
Our Goals
During the BETA phase, you may encounter occasional quirks as we continue refining and optimizing Reactor Ops. Your constructive and detailed feedback is invaluable, helping us identify areas for improvement and prioritize features that will benefit the community. By supporting Reactor Ops now, you’re actively shaping its future development.
As a Reactor Initiate, your early commitment comes with a reward: a special offer to join future tiers at a discounted rate, giving you access to even more advanced features as they become available.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we will make Reactor Ops a powerful, indispensable tool for players everywhere.

Comments
The plan is to launch the first update, based on user feedback, in the week of Nov. 11. The update, and all subsequent updates, will include a detailed list of changes. Likewise, supporters will be given a picture of next steps after each release. Early on, there will be a balance between delivering A) new features that achieve my larger force management vision for Reactor Ops, and B) critical usability improvements based on supporter feedback. Longer term, if the project succeeds, new work can be based largely on supporter feedback. At all stages, supporter feedback will play a vital role. I do not plan to maintain a detailed public development roadmap at this time, as some of my ideas are special and I want them to be a surprise.

2024-11-01 21:44:41 +0000 UTCThe tool looks great! It’s a lot like many of the Alpha Strike tools for force generation. Any possibility to allow a random force generation with constraints? (eg: up to 2 mechs, Min BV, Max BV, era and faction?) Like an Opfor/Opponent generator?
