Work on the Formation Builder is fully underway! We now have the logic in place to procedurally generate rules-official formations from Campaign Operations.
This system allows you to take a list of saved units (up to 60 for supporters) and, based on rules you define, randomly assign them to formations of your choosing—such as Assault Lance, Direct Fire Lance, Light Recon Lance, and more. This includes Stars and Level IIs. The core logic is in place, but I need to finalize it before starting on the user interface for Reactor Ops.
Before moving forward, I want to gather your feedback and expectations on an important point.

How important is it to you that the initial release of the Formation Builder includes the ability to manually assign specific units to formations?
Would you be satisfied with a randomized, procedural approach for rolling formations based on your selected rules, or do you also expect the ability to manually create formations and validate them against the rules?
For example, this could be implemented with a drag-and-drop interface, allowing you to build formations manually and then verify which official formations apply.
