Reactor Ops hits 1,000 MechWarriors — and the Campaign Manager is next

TL;DR: We just crossed 1,000 registered users (🥳). Since launch in Oct 2024 we shipped Hangar Vaults, OpFor Generator, Formation Builder + Saved Rosters, major UI/Search upgrades, enhanced charts, and full Alpha Strike support. Next up: the Campaign Manager (Chaos Campaign for everyone; Mercenaries Chaos Campaign for supporters), targeting an initial release in mid-November 2025.

A few weeks ago, Reactor Ops crossed an important milestone: 1,000 users have created an account.
Could a few be bots? Maybe. But if any franchise can welcome the occasional bot into a universe of towering, bipedal, human-piloted war machines… it’s BattleTech.
Most importantly: thank you to those of you who support the project with 3 dollars a month. Your feedback on every release has shaped the platform. Here’s how far we’ve come since the October 2024 launch—and where we’re going next.
What we’ve shipped so far
Hangar Vaults — launched and iterated with your feedback.
OpFor Generator
Formation Builder & Saved Rosters
Enhanced Data Charts — deeper insights into your roster and unit performance.
Major UI + Search/Force-Building overhaul
Alpha Strike support — this was a big lift (and yes, even I was skeptical we’d land it this fast).
In development: Campaign Manager
The Campaign Manager is now in active build. On day one you’ll be able to:
Create and manage up to four separate campaigns (we may expand later—but keeping it at four helps manage database costs as we scale).
Run either Chaos Campaign (available to everyone) or Mercenaries Chaos Campaign (supporters only).
Import your saved force (units + pilots) directly into a campaign.
Record track details (rewards, damaged units, pilot status, salvage).
Review ongoing unit status in a dedicated view and perform actions: hire pilots, buy/sell units, adjust skills, make repairs.
Track campaign points in a Ledger (Warchest or Support Points activity, all in one place).
For Mercenaries campaigns: build Contracts with parameters that automatically calculate Support Points for campaign upkeep.
Why the timing changed
I’d hoped to finish by end of summer, but prioritizing Alpha Strike support (which a huge portion of the community plays, often exclusively) pushed the timeline. I’ve also dialed back the release tempo a notch to keep life in balance—so I can keep building this for the long haul.
Target date
We’re aiming for an initial Campaign Manager release in mid-Q4 (around mid-November 2025). As always: subject to iteration, testing, and your feedback.
What I’m building right now
I’m deep into the four main tabs you’ll use for the Campaign Manager:
Contracts, Tracks, Units, and Ledger—designed closely against Campaign Operations and Mercenaries Chaos Campaign rules.
Preview images are below—UI will change before release.
Thank you again for helping Reactor Ops grow from an idea to a tool thousands of players use. If you want to support development (and unlock Mercenaries campaign features), consider becoming a supporter. Your feedback, bug reports, and ideas continue to make this better every week.
