Patron Exclusive: Spider-man 2 RiffTrax Draft
Added 2018-02-13 15:24:11 +0000 UTCHere's something random I thought you might like a peek at. This is a script I wrote in 2008 as a RiffTrax contributor for their Spider-man 2 "RiffTrax Presents" release. This was later edited by Kevin and Bill and incorporated into their final script. If you happen to own this RiffTrax title, you can see how much material they used and how they changed it.
Oh, and when it says "Josh" in the script, that's not a reference to me but to guest riffer Josh Fruhlinger a.k.a. The Comics Curmudgeon.
Cheers! I'll be back tomorrow with this week's short. I want to call it a doozy, but aren't they all?

I imagine that one's a trudge. I've all but sworn off movie-length riffs in my old age. They're just too time-consuming and soul-sucking. I've got a system for pumping out the shorts and I still really enjoy it, but unless someone hires me to riff a feature I believe I'm done.

2018-02-14 17:35:32 +0000 UTCIt is quite dense, I tended to give them more than they needed, and eventually I began leaving longer gaps between riffs. But they actually used a surprising amount of material from this script - maybe seven or eight jokes out of ten? I was always surprised how much of my material made the final cut.

2018-02-13 19:23:30 +0000 UTCI don't have the Rifftrax in question, but I suppose they only used selected riffs? In some places it seems a little dense - like if you actually riffed every 4-5 seconds it would seem very rapid-fire, I think.
