In "Never Count the Stars" (the animated movie I'm currently working on) the setting spans thousands of years. Both of these images are from the same area, many years apart. This means essentially creating two worlds, altered by time. In this world, it is forbidden to count the stars. They built these giant smokestacks to cloud the sky at night and obscure the stars. Only the clergy - those proven to be able to resist temptation - are allowed to venture into the Forbidden Lands, the surrounding desert, where the stars can still be seen. It is in that desert where a priestess has a very unusual encounter that alters the course of history.
