Added 2023-02-21 22:13:18 +0000 UTCHey, everyone. I finished Part 1 of my new book. This one is very different than Power Corrupts. First, I'm writing the entire story as a book (it will have 3 parts). Then I will upload it to my channel as an audiobook, or I will make it into animated episodes. Animation would take much longer. It's a fantasy story that isn't atheistic so far. It does deal with how religion approaches certain themes, like life's purpose. It is starting to get into some religious allegory in Part 2. For instance, it examines ways people are incentivized. It's about a father trying to protect his child in a world overrun by creatures of unspecified origin. Humanity is on the brink of extinction. The question of life's meaning, and purpose is shaped through his journey. From this brief description it may sound like some stories you've heard before, but it isn't. I am very confident that it will surprise you. It will not be predictable.
My previous video did pretty well. After a long period of stagnation, it drove in a lot of new subscribers. I'm glad about that, because I thought of doing more in that style. It is a departure from my animations, but I may have less to say using that style for the moment. For my next video, I thought of addressing the idea of whether we're in "decline" the way many religious people believe, and the meaning of that narrative. I'd like to examine which aspects of society are doing better or worse using actual metrics rather than biased narratives. This interests me, because those who want us to believe we're in a certain decline are usually doing it because they have someone in mind to blame. I'd like to examine the tactics, truths, and falsehoods therein. Let me know if that would interest you.
