And I recall my Dad's Dad said he loved listening to Amos 'n' Andy. Strangely enough, it seems to have led my Grandad to actually liking real-life African-Americans. And he passed that along to my Dad, who also did not pass racial prejudice on to me. Over two decades ago, in the small town where my Dad's parents retired, the town motel and restaurant was bought by a Jamaican family. Until that point, my Grandad met people from his church, every week, for lunch in that restaurant (Grandmother had passed away, years before.). When the Jamaicans took over, everyone else stopped attending the weekly lunch. But my Grandad continued to go there, every week, and eventually everyone else returned to their weekly routine. It was actually people from his church telling this story, on themselves, after Grandad passed away.
