Dear Patrons (Josh in crisis!)

Hey, gang! If you're reading this you are an extra special person who means a lot to me. You are one of the 50 faithful individuals who have stuck around as I explored my creative options and changed the face of my Patreon page. I still lose a few patrons every month, which is honestly not as many as I assumed I would lose. I've always appreciated your support and encouragement, and I do now more than ever.

Here's the deal: I am about to lose my full-time day job of over twenty-five years. This sweet remote gig has been my security net for most of my adult life and has allowed me the freedom to pursue creative outlets like my art and Fun With Shorts. Now I find myself imminently unemployed, losing medical and retirement benefits in the process. Rough days ahead.

In the long term, I'm sure I'll be fine. I'm casting a wide net looking for new opportunities and I'm excited to find the next chapter of my career. The most exciting prospect is the possibility that I might find work that taps into my more creative talents like art and writing. We'll see. Maybe I'll even figure out how to grow my Patreon and YouTube channel to full-time status! (I know, keep dreaming.)

For now, I just felt compelled to express my gratitude to my Patreon remnant and urge you to stick with me. I'm not asking anyone to increase their pledge or do anything more than you're already doing, I'm just asking you to consider continuing with me on this journey. My posting may become more erratic, or maybe I'll find myself with extra time to make content. We'll see. But please bear with me!

Your pal,
Josh

Terrible news -- hope you can get a better job soon (or, alternately, that you're showered with money in recognition of your talents).

Best wishes and I'll include a few prayers towards you finding new employment which provides opportunities and worthwhile salary!

I'm sorry this is happening, but you are WAY too talented for that gig. Here's to a new direction that makes use of that astounding brain you have!!
