I live in the world of computers and computer programming, so I'm okay with companies wanting to re-release movies using some cool new technology which is meant to improve the audio or video quality. But when they're releasing it on some media which has enough capacity (such as blu-ray), it seems to me that they *ought* to include both the original and improved versions. If the new technology really is really good, then it won't be hurt by having the original version included. And in fact I would think that fans of the new technology would be happy to see the original included, so that everyone could see how much of a difference was made by the cool new technology.
