2024-05-29 11:50:11 +0000 UTCSo I'm an '80s kid and I knew the cultural memes around Mad Max but didn't see all the movies until a few years ago. I think I saw Furiosa on the same day that you did, just in a different theater in a different part of the country. I think if someone went into it cold without seeing the other films or even really knowing anything about them, they wouldn't care that it's a prequel. Given other franchises and their attempts to establish or retcon continuity (I have seen Star Wars 1 through 3 exactly once, when they came out in the theater, and that was all I needed), "prequel" might be the only bad thing you could say about this movie.
