The Podcast Is Coming Back

Hey guys! Sorry it's been a while since the last update. We're now fully decided on how we're going to be moving forward. Let me know if you have any questions!

The Podcast Is Coming Back

Comments

Oops nevermind! I found it. πŸ‘

Chris

I'm new here! Is the podcast a YouTube-only thing or is there a traditional RSS feed for the audio?

Chris

As always, I am open-minded to how you guys want to proceed with things. However, it does suck that there is a chance that there will be no voting for another game review because of the FF review redo attempt. Hopefully things work out to where that can happen a bit at least.

We'll have to see. I enjoyed FF CC back in the day, but I'm not sure I have a lot to say about it. I'll think on it.

Here's a podcast idea: When to do fantasy? I ask this because The Pirates of the Caribbean sequels (Dead Man's Chest and At World's End, specifically) drew mixed reactions from audiences not only due to their overly-complicated plots and character arcs, but also due to the shift from low fantasy--as per the first film, The Curse of the Black Pearl--to high fantasy. I personally didn't mind this shift all THAT much, and I would even go so far as to argue that it made the movies more fun and provided lots of potential for the writers to work with. However, I do agree with most audiences that the whole "we must free Calypso" subplot was uninteresting and took up far too much screen time (along with that stupid scene with the crabs). Do you think the negative reactions to the Calypso and Davy Jones' locker segments were due to audiences simply not wanting POTC to be a high fantasy story, or was it more due to the plot having already become so convoluted by the start of the third film that audiences all collectively rolled their eyes from exhaustion?

Hey Mike, thanks for the update. Real quick - the remaster of FF CC from Gamecube is rumored for this year. Think it's worth adding to your workload?

Okay, nevermind! Just looked into it and they've made it a lot easier. We are set up on Spotify now!

Resonant Arc

I'll have to look in to spotify again. If I remember correctly, I would have to host with spotify if I wanted to get the podcast on there, which I'm not willing to do since I've already got everything set up (for all other platforms) through hosting with soundcloud.

Thank you, Edrees!

All sounds great to me. Take care Mike!

Hey Michael, glad your health is improving. With the podcast coming back is there any consideration for audio only for Spotify or Stitcher or something similar? Just curious. Spotify is easier for me to access through the day.

Final Fantasy Friday alone is worth it :D

Just increased my pledge. Really hope you guys hit the stretch goal!

Edrees Hatef

I'll gladly up my plege, totally worth it!

Hi Michael! Great to see you again, about orchestrations of VGM - please consider a couple of my favorite albums: 2 Earthbound/Mother remix albums by the 'Bad Dudes' called Psychokinetic - I'll let you choose your fave tracks, and Balance and Ruin (I've listened a billion times) rehashing the FF6 soundtrack. The FF album is more orchestral, but the Mother albums are pure gold.
