The next Fantasy update is here!

I'm going to leave some Witch King and Fell Beast updates off patreon because of the Angry Company. But community members can still access the those WIPs as mentioned in previous posts. Just to be thorough, community members will receive an email with the access information as well.

First up are the three cardinals from the Spanish Inquisition sketch. The legendary Monty Python definitely doesn't need any introduction, but just a quick refresher - it's a collective name of the creators of Monty Python's Flying Circus, a British television comedy sketch show.

Through cultural osmosis they've become a staple of TV/movie references and memes. Seriously, almost every comedy will have some sort of Monty Python Easter egg, such is their influence over the decades. And one of the most famous catchphrases to come out of their sketches is "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!" as declared by Cardinal Ximinez (Michael Palin).

I can't really do the sketch justice but you can still catch it here to see why it's such a popular meme. 😄 And I did my best to replicate the tone, style and actual costumes from the sketches.

On the LOTR side of things, I've now got the Witch King riding his Fell Beast as depicted in the Two Towers/Return of the King. Fell Beasts in the LOTR universe are actually a catch all term for monstrous, evil, and dangerous animals. This particular type of Fell Beast are also known as Black Wings, Nazgûl-birds and hell-hawks.

While their origins are unknown, Black Wings were rumored to be creatures that predates most LOTR history. But some lingered from the earliest eras breeding within a hideous eyrie "in forgotten mountains" within Angmar. Black Wings are huge, bigger than any kind of bird including Eagles but notably lack any quills or feathers. They are also famed for their speed making them masters of the sky and terrifying opponents as shown in the movies.

So right now I made my version as described in lore with lizard like skin and some head armor. I've also tried throwing in some head and helmet variations. Right now, I have them posed over some rubble but if community members have any suggestions on particular poses please let me know.

Speaking of which, I'll be moving onto character poses and the completely original character I have in mind for Fantasy Month. Sci Fi voting will also be posted in the next few days. Please have your suggestions submitted into the Sci Fi suggestion box soon. Thanks!
