Ideas for supplemental videos
Added 2022-04-20 11:49:46 +0000 UTCHey everyone. I’m back hard at work on the next episode of Season 3, but I wanted I get your ideas on what kind of topics you’d like to see me cover for upcoming supplemental episodes (in the vein of some of my recent videos, such as: the 9 Tips for Solo Play; Using NPC emulators for in-person games (T2k in that case), etc.).
I have a growing list of ideas for upcoming videos of that nature, but I’d love to hear your ideas and suggestions.
Thanks as always for your continued support!

2022-05-16 12:42:58 +0000 UTCHi, happy to join the patreon familiy ! There is so much things i would like you to share with us ... First of all, i'd like some videos about voice acting and characters interpretation. You are pretty good at it (this is part of your job after all) and i'm sure you have good tips for quickly giving strong personalities to characters. I really like your new project, running a Mythic game with player, and i'd like more videos with different usage og Mythic : running written adventures or campaigns solo, running a ttrpg with a strong background rather than an improvised world, using mythic as coop game ... Things about game mastering, how to write good notes, how to handle difficulty (i really have difficulties to correctly adjust difficulty), compose with all the rules and improvie them (i regularly miss some rules, that cause me huge frustration) and so on ... all that kind of gm pitfalls. More supplemental videos should be great, i really improved my games with all the supplements you talked about, and there is so much more to explore ! This is the more straightforward ideas ... not worthing a video maybe, but i'm sure you have a lot to say with your experience. My other idea, or at least a wish, is to make something participative. I don't know how exactly but i'd like to be a part of the world you create somehow ... it could be poll between sessions on differents aspects like you did with the spear name in ironsworn season or something like the old books where you are the hero to let us choose a path for example. Maybe it could be a quest hooks launched during a session. For example in this session, we could be drunken ghoul's crew, acting between sessions to resolve some kind of quest and using the overall result in your next session .... Long story short, having somehow an impact on one of your series could be fun, not easy to setup however ... Hope it helps :)

2022-05-16 12:35:49 +0000 UTCI would like to see you run through some sort of a published adventure with some set parameters solo with GM emulator and random tables just to see how that would work. Having said that, I have no idea what system or world you would want to pursue. I know Savage Worlds has some "worlds" you can play in and the basic RPGs devised by Chris Gonnerman have adventure modules you can run as a GM for players. I want to try this but not sure how exactly to do it with an emulator and tables. For now, Shandar, my Rakashan ranger, shall continue to try to learn more about the "ghost" that is causing disappearances of townspeople in the hills southwest of the town of Overstone!
2022-05-07 11:19:22 +0000 UTCThat's really cool. Doing old episodes removes the danger of spoilers. You can still discuss style, and perhaps a comparison on what you would do now vs. whats happening in the old episode. I think that's great.

2022-04-27 22:53:41 +0000 UTCOne of my ideas was to do “commentary” videos on the old episodes, where my talking head would be in a corner discussing the episode and my choices in it as I watch.

2022-04-24 20:34:57 +0000 UTCIT HAPPENDE LIKE THIS A THE GAME SESSON OF ... Short snip it story from one of your past adventures with a group that left a good memory, maybe include some background so we understand it better and include some of the key mechanics: , Example: " It was a regular game session of D&D. All the usual suspects were here and we had just finish a gauntlet of goblins, hob goblins and ogres. We crossed a rope bridge to get away, but an ogre followed. It would cross the bridge before we could chop the huge ropes holding it. However, the DM did pointed out a balancing support rope attached to the other side that could cause the ogre trouble. The only way I was going to take out that rope across the canyon before the ogre came to finish our already exhausted and low on hit points party was for me to make a natural '20' to hit with my throwing knife. No one had any other ideas and they all looked to me to save the day. So as I rolled my favorite black with red text twenty sider I made a little prayer. The die jumped the die rolling box and went across the game matt and stopped after it was stopped by the ogre miniature on the bridge. We all looked at the die. It was on a natural '20'. The table erupted in screams of joy as the if I won at the craps table. The DM with a large smile announces the rope is severed and because it was a balancing support of the rope bridge and the ogre was pushing the weight limit, the bridge tilted and the ogre slides off unable to grab anything because of the weapon he carried. We all watch as the DM grabs the miniature ogre and lifts him up into the air then drops his hand down as he whistles giving drama to the fall of the the ogre. That was long remembered as the roll of rolls at ogre canyon."

2022-04-22 20:45:50 +0000 UTCPeople are asking for more advice on character generation, world building and interpretation, etc., so how about a few short "one-shots". Different settings, like someone said, sci-fi, zombie apocalypse, WW2, modern day spy thriller, a night in a haunted house, etc. You could go back to SW as it is for any setting and run a series of short adventures (maybe three episodes each) but each one with a new character. People could then see a few different examples from character builds, to starting the scenes to tying up a conclusion. And you could be harder on the character because if he/she dies, who cares? It would be fun to watch and people would get lots of tips along the way, while you might be able to introduce new resources through DriveThruRPG.

2022-04-22 03:17:50 +0000 UTCI think some sort of "Post Episode Discussion" could be cool. Talk about why you came up with X and how... without diving into your future plans. Don't know how feasible that is but I like hearing how people's styles go.

2022-04-21 10:39:29 +0000 UTCI have really been enjoying The Sage's Library so definitely more of that! I recently purchased "Bunnies and Burrows" and "Pendragon" (2nd edition I think? most recent anyway) as well as quite a few tomes in "Lamentations of the Flame Princess" ruleset and have been itching to try those solo with Mythic GME and all the random tables I have (most of which I learned of on your show-Perilous Wilds, Matt Davids books, dungeon and wilderness dressings.) Would love to hear your thoughts if these are part of the library. Have just finished episode 6 of season 3-it's the best season yet! Thanks for all you do Trevor!
2022-04-21 09:58:26 +0000 UTCOff topic, but been meaning to suggest The Fantasy Trip as the rule system for Season 4. Or at least a Sage's Library episode. Thanks!
