Game System(s) Under Development!

Happy 2024, everyone!

It’s been a busy couple of months since I announced that Season 4 will also see the development of my own RPG system.

What’s fascinating is that, although I am ultimately a simulationist gamer at heart, I have discovered that there are 2 warring game systems in my head - and both of them are making their way to the page.

The main system I’ve been working on is what I call a “Best Of” system; one where I use as inspiration all of my favorite games in the Sage’s Library. It is solidly simulationist and based on my own permutation of the d100 system.

However, I woke up the other day with a more rules-light dice pool game burning itself onto my brain - which I immediately set to paper before I lost it. That was three days and endless continuous hours of work ago now, and I find myself with two really fun-looking games staring me in the face. Which one to focus on for Season 4?!?

After consultation with several trusted gamer friends, I now know that I have to give my audience what I promised: a more rules-medium, “simulation-lite” game. So the d100 system it is! Although I promise you at some point I will be itching to release this other rules-light game, so I’ll let you know when that happens.
