Blitz - Chapter Twelve
Added 2019-09-10 10:26:06 +0000 UTCSo instead of talking about my exhausting writing/editing journey on this chapter, I have a bit of a story, just for the fun of it.
Recently I told my girlfriend a story about the first romance novel I ever read, back when I was thirteen or so -- I believed I mentioned this in my post about how I got started writing what I do. Anyways, I talked a bit more about how this book affected me to her and got this itch to read it again after like fifteen years or something.
Now, I have no idea what the hell this book is called and I only have the briefest memories about things within it, not many which would help narrow down the search more. After all, it wouldn't be a 'romance novel' if there wasn't a pregnancy, a doctor, a cheating scandal, a cowboy, vampires, my best friend's brother -- okay those last few weren't there, but you get the tropes. So, narrowing it down has been difficult.
Well, I've been looking for a few other books to start rebuilding my own library so this weekend, my girl and I wound up in a little corner bookstore to poke around. To my absolute delight, they had a ridiculous amount of romance novels at this place. Like an entire alcove dedicated just to Harlequin amount of romance novels.
So we start poking around and looking for this book and at first I'm halfway into it, but the longer I looked the more the hope in my rose. And the longer I searched the more my girlfriend had fun making fun of the titles and the horrible blurbs and just the overall cheesiness of the whole industry. I'm sure by the end of our search the bookstore owner was exhausted with us and just praying we would leave, especially when we came up empty handed in our exhausting journey.
Morale of the story, even if things don't go the way you want, it doesn't mean you can't have fun.

On a more serious note though, Trent was extremely rude to her when she tried to give him some advice; I REALLY hate people who do that, and Karma gave him a few swift kicks, when he got caught once again trying to run away; he better not quit his daytime job at this rate. He's also not as good of a listener as he think he is, and needs to improve on choosing his words and actions a bit more wisely. All that progress down the drain.

Alice was all like "Stop, you violated the law!" and he just totally gave up. That was great!
