The Wild One Playlist + Glossary
Added 2020-09-24 16:27:21 +0000 UTCSo like I promised, a few extras to go along with The Wild One now that it's all released. Fun fact about the playlist, I've been wanting to come up with one for a story using just one artist for some time and this was my opportunity to finally do that with Empire of the Sun. Sort of like my own band-centric concept album. As for the glossary, I'm pretty sure that's all the crazy made up words that I used throughout the story but if there's one that I missed--or just didn't go into enough detail about--please bring it to my attention and I'll add it into the glossary as soon as I can.
PLAYLIST
1. Standing on the Shore: This one does a good job about conveying the overall feeling of Max and how hopeless she feels in her life. I don't know why, the words don't exactly reflect that but there's a tone to it that's there. Besides, this band is all metaphors anyways.
2. Old Flavours
3. Before
4. Way to Go
5. Awakening: This is sort of the theme song for the roksinatu. Not that the roksinatu is this funky and jamming by nay means, but the words behind it all feel like this lyrical interpretation of Max and Tug coming together as one new entity.
6. Surround Sound
7. High and Low: Despite the peppy tone to this track, it really conveys that feeling of imminent separation you just can't run away from. I used to love this song and now it just makes me sad because of this story. Thanks a lot Max.
8. Tiger by My Side
9. Disarm" Does a pretty good job of narrating the fight scene at certain parts. There's also this line "Way beyond the clifftops/where it meets the bluest sea/just beyond further still/ where you left me" and I feel that for Tug. Like a lot.
10. ZZZ
11. Welcome to My Life
