Opinion Poll

So I've been listening to a lot of audiobooks lately and after suffering through a few badly narrated ones it got me thinking about possibly recording some of my own to see how I would do.

With that in mind I thought that I could run a poll to see which of my stories all of you would be most interested in hearing if I decided to try my hand at this project.

If you're interested please respond to the poll and let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Honeslty, yeah. Fantasy has become very stale as so many people just try to recreate tolkein or classic fairy tail-esque stories. To me fantasy is all about what your wildest imagination can dream up and those are the kind of stories I find myself drawn to.

That's completely fair. I used to read a lot more than I do now but I've found that as I get older my ADHD makes it harder for me to sit down and focus on one thing for too long so audiobooks have been really helpful to get me back into reading more. I think people like myself and folks with long work commutes contributed to their rise in popularity. Definitely no hard feelings from me if it's not your cup of tea though, I still appreciate the input!

I voted for scraps/drabbles because like Val said, it would be good practice. I will admit that no matter what you do, I probably won’t listen to it. Audiobooks aren’t for me, but in this day and age, having audiobook versions of one’s books is getting more and more vital for authors. Just as there are those like me that prefer to read on their own, there are those who prefer to listen to an audiobook.

I will definitely let you know what I think , so far I'm really enjoying it . Fantasy is a great genre for fiction I think but so often it's screwed up by less talented authors who forget you need more than a castle and a princess in distress to make good fantasy fiction

That's great to hear! I'd love to know what you think of it when you're finished. Also, I love getting the chance to world build and play with different kinds of lore and such. It's the thing I love most about working with fantasy over my typical modern stories.

I love your world building and characters in The Wild one, Trifecta is a great story too, I am still reading your revised edition Trifecta

Jane

Honestly one of my favorites as well. That one and Trifecta were the ones I was leaning most towards before I posted this poll.

I've voted for my favourite, The Wild one but Val makes a good point . Thank you for asking for our thoughts . Basically I will happy for whichever you feel most comfortable doing for your first try .

Jane

I appreciate the feedback. You definitely bring up some good points for me to consider. I'll have to look at some of my scraps and drabbles and see if there's any in particular that would be good contenders for this project.

I voted for others and here's why: since you've never done it, it might be easiest to start with something smaller, such as a scrap or drabble. Then get your listeners feedback on it. It would also give you a chance to basically try it on yourself. You may find you aren't enjoying it as much as you thought you would. However, after starting on them you may find that a particular type of story you've written appeals to you the most as a story teller. Then you could move up to that story. And whichever story you preferred would be fine. Thats my opinion. Thank you for taking the time to ask us, it is appreciated.

It would definitely be a challenge to capture all that anger in one place!

I’d love to get to hear the rage build up in “…but your enemies closer”
