Thoughts from COP26
Added 2021-11-26 20:00:04 +0000 UTCSo I talked about this a bit in this month's livestream, but I wanted to share with y'all some of my thoughts from the UN Climate conference. YouTube flew me out to Glasgow, Scotland where more than 30k people, including world leaders, youth activists, representatives from indigenous tribes and tech billionaires met to talk about ONE main issue. Seeing all these people come together and hearing their stories made everything feel... real.
I left feeling like people are acting, and I haven’t stopped thinking about COP26 since I’ve left. In fact, I’ve looked into graduate programs in climate studies, not to mention watching my peers on YouTube videos to learn how best to talk about climate change, and investigating more science and research.
At COP26, I heard heart-wrenching stories of indigenous tribes in Africa no longer seeing the annual birds that indicate when water's coming. Because droughts are increasing in frequency and severity. I experienced some surreal moments when I was a stone’s throw from Prince Charles, watching him tour a new electric McLaren racing vehicle. I also learned A. LOT. I came in thinking "we need renewable energy" - my one track solution, my one size fits all. "Let’s just decrease greenhouse gas emissions, and call it a day." But it’s not just energy, it’s deforestation because cutting down trees leads to desertification and fewer crops. It’s sustainable practices for fashion because textile manufacturing pollutes our water.
I already knew climate change is one of the most pressing issues for our generation. BEING there, though, gives you a community of people that you don’t otherwise feel a part of in your everyday life, and it made me think a lot about how we communicate the issues of climate change. How do we tell stories that impact people and how can we turn that impact into actionable goals, rather than anxiety, discord and apathy?
It's a lot to think about, but I'm inspired after seeing so many people put their energy into changing the world for the better.
Hopefully these thoughts help share some of my hope with you. At the very least, I can share these pictures from my time there. I got to chat with amazing youth activists, awesome climate scientists, and explore some of the beauty of Scotland (including a legit castle).

Awesome story and pics. But, there is always a but. But, the fact is man made climate change does not exist. Governments around the world are using climate change to steal the wealth of the world's citizens and too take away our rights and force us to do what they want when they want. I'll admit that man pollutes the planet. But the sun controls the climate. Also volcanoes and asteroids control our climate. Things we have no control over. Once the earth was an ice cube. It will be again one day. If the leaders pushing this agenda believed it for one second they would not be doing everything they don't want us to do. Bill gates carbon footprint is more than a few thousand regular folks put together. They make us stop taking care of our forest. Now we have super fires and now they blame climate change. Sure it's man's fault. Man's fault he didn't do control burns for years. Not because he ate a hamburger. This is a giant gift, millions of people have bought into. If folks would do there own research they would see its a gift. Nobody on this planet would be starving if somebody somewhere wasn't getting rich because those people are starving. Unless folks wake-up to this lie they will wake-up one day a slave.

I just got back from the https://thedisclosure.com finale and it is great to see government and industry sincerely trying to do things differently when it comes to energy research that is actually renewable, sustainable, and creates a cleaner freer world. Key takeaways: 1. Renewable energy currently is not actually renewable (for example wind turbines require maintenance and burning spent propellers in plasma that costs more energy than they produced). 2. The "system" is like the wifebeater who has the world in headlock and is going for the kill. By creating quality jobs, education, and wellbeing we can free our world to finally be able to breathe, get off the hamsterwheel, and follow one's true calling. 3. In this post-2012 4th density (of consciousness/light) world, people are more powerful and responsible for every aspect of their lives.

Not only do we need to figure out how to do this, but also within the frame of this economy (ie. still make it worthwhile to individuals & companies)
