Dianna cuts her hair

Hey guys, small mid-March update. Dianna is not needing to go to the E.R. at the moment. But she is still crashing heavily and is bed-ridden 24/7 as usual.

I filmed this a couple days ago. Dianna's hair was hard for her to maintain in her current state. So to our surprise she cut a good chunk off while I was there.

Comments

get well soon dear.. bless you

Vijaya Yajnanarayana

Keep up the good fight sweetie. You'll pull through this yet!

Banter Maestro

Hey Dianna, keeping you in my thoughts. I wish your body a proper recovery. This sounds really tough. I wanted to take the opportunity to offer words of gratitude, I'm really thankful for all of your work and I hope to see it again someday. But first and foremost, your health, living life with quality, and sending hugs and love you and the folks around you. Love ya.

Drifting Turmoil

Fun fact: Did you know that wombats are the only animal known to have square poops? My friend told me that today to lighten my mood. Had to share.

Puanani Reid

I am not a medic, so I little weight can be given to my thoughts that this looks more like a reaction to the mRNA vaccine than it does to 'long Covid'. But I do know that there is a scandal erupting here in the UK over the number of 'excess deaths' and harmful side-effects following that mRNA vaccine roll-out. I believe the figure is 63,000 'excess deaths' in the UK in 2022. There is not - yet - a definitive link between the mRNA vaccine and these 'excess deaths'. But the evidence for such a link is mounting. The strongest evidence, in my view, is as follows; - A Member of Parliament by the name of Andrew Bridgen gave a speech on 17th March, citing a long list of statistics - using the government's own figures - of vaccine injuries and deaths. As he rose to speak, there was what can only be described as a staged walk-out, as the Parliamentary benches immediately emptied. There were wto MP's from Mr Bridgen's Conservative Party (plus a couple of government front-benchers who were there to respond) and NOBODY on the opposition benches. There is a determination on the part of our politicans to talk about this issue. And that in itself is mighty suspicious. Here is a link to Mr Bridgen's speech; - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvSHD_n3Lyg

Hugo Miller

Hair grow back, so will also your mind recover…. Keep fighting! You are doing great!

Marco Anello

Very good possibility it is from the vaccine’s side effects. Why else would the vaccine manufacturers get approved for immunity from being held accountable for Covid vaccine side effects? If a manufacturer was confident in the rarity of vaccine complications, they would never have sought out immunity from being held accountable.

Christina Downs

Also suffering LC. Thank you for sharing your hopeful story! I'm sure it came from a lot of work and determination, but worth it. I hope Diana can find her own pathway out (me too!)

Kiki

Hello! I am sharing my deepest love to you. I am also a long-Covid survivor, whose experiencing Central Sleep Apnea, Nerve degenerative, Unable to breath, Unable to Work and Eat due to Muscle Contractions. I also went through all the best doctor and find no hope. Until I am treating with Acupuncture and practicing Qigong. After about 6 months, I am able to eat normally, walk normally and sleep much better. I am sending the best wishes to you.

Diem Huyen Hoang

I have Ehlers-Danlos and I crash like this too! I have a few comorbid conditions like Mast Cell activation and dysotonomia. I hope she finds a Dr who knows about this! I go to the Abdullah’s in Herndon Va and Dr Babcock in great falls Va they both help treat dysotonomia and EDS. Alot of Drs don’t really know about it so it took me 10 years of going to Drs and being told it was fibromyalgia or in my head. Then crashing so much I became a frequent flier to the ER. Now we manage my condition much better but before that they just let me crash for weeks at a time.

Christina Ferreira

I mentioned this in my comment on the YouTube video, but there's lots of fun and cool short hair options that I think Diana would look absolutely stunning in while also keeping comfortable and easy to care for. My personal favorite short style if the reverse bob that the AI character Cortana wore in the Halo 2 games, with a buzzed nape and a really cool sharp jawline cut. I colored the nape hair when I did mine, it was bright red and super fun. May you and your find comfort and stability in the coming days, and don't forget that you can still find joy in the little things.

Cell113

Dianna, I know your channel started as an awesome Physics channel, but it has grown into a wonderful community of curious minds from around the world. Your fans’ “dayjobs” include doctor, lawyer, caregiver, researcher, etc. My point to the editor who reads this comment is that there is “wisdom in the crowd.” Without violating Dianna’s privacy, I am certain the crowd can help her personal physicians craft a treatment plan that brings the familiar Dianna back into focus. I posted on IG earlier but I am not sure if her team checks IG, but in looking at her prior videos I started to wonder if she might have “joint hyper mobility syndrome”, also know as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. There are MANY subtypes and all but one of them can be found in a cheap skeletal dysplasia DNA test through Invitae.com. I ask because the symptoms you have shared sound like POTS (easier to have you look it up but it involved heart rate changes) and MAST cell activation (where something like COVID triggers an histamine response). I also noticed she has a CPAP or BiPAP or ASV to help with breathing. Has she tried meds like Armodafanil (long acting Modafanil helpful for extreme fatigue)? These comments and questions are not meant to pry…I just want to help in any way that I can and researching unique questions (book or online) is a major hobby for me and part of my job as well. I really hope Dianna returns to you soon.

Benicia

Shaving my hair down to an inch was such a big help. not stylish, always bed head, but so much easier to take care of with ME

VeeDragon

Go Dianna! An act of personal agency and preference is vital to withstand such conditions of life! And with your face, you'll look cute in any hairstyle. I look forward to hearing about any future preferences you act on during this tough phase of life. And thank you, Kyle, and the team, for your withstanding your own stresses. Good job, all of you, just getting through this, one step at a time. I'm honored that you have let me be part of your lives through this.

Mary MacNicol

There's something in my eyes...

Douglas Boyle

We are going to have to deal with long covid in all it's varied forms. Research is being done, but of course not fast enough. In the meantime you may want to employ an advocate, sad to say they are frequently necessary when dealing with our healthcare system. And do be wary as others have mentioned, snake oil will abound specifically targeting this area.

Rocketguy

NOOOO!!!!!!! Seriously though - it's just hair. Hair can grow back or be cut short. Whatever makes life easier and happier. :D

Richard Waskiewicz

I m sorry

Bbbiger

A question for Levi or Kyle. Has Dianna's ability to think been slowed down at the moment because of this illness, or is engaging her mind something that she has to work to avoid so that she can rest her brain and get better, or is it a bit of both? I ask because I worry that if she has full capacity to think and she has to constantly work to avoid it, that seems like the most tortuous thing I could imagine, especially for someone so brilliant. I'm just hoping she can experience some peace and rest and it's not a constant internal struggle to quiet her mind.

Tor Ravengael

What is that suppose to mean, that Diana and family and friend's shouldn't look into innovative new and inspired treatments especially and even from those of prestige? Yes I agree be wary not to waste time and or opportunity cost on looser's and snake oil salesmen however I do think that they should continually look for new and innovative treatments also! Basically in your professional opinion all that is a waste of time and opportunity cost huh, sounds, fishy. "Unfortunately no clear solutions or reliable treatments are evident" then the only place to go is up!? For Example: If a Nobel laureate indicates that they have something new then I think it's worth listening to and seriously considering! I vote for, use your better judgment!

Richard Pearce

Alex's comment and the two replies are no doubt made with the best intentions. I myself would avoid potentially risky treatments until there is a clearer case definition and much better evidence. I've seen lots of practices in medicine employed extensively only to be found to absolutely cause more harm than good. The first Medical News Today article points out the need for caution.

Charles Carter

Diana, I positively hate seeing this happen to you and like all your supporters am eager to help any way I can. I'm an MD (a hospitalist/ internist) and thus have long been a 'consumer' of medical science. I thought again of you because of a UK study on organ MRIs in long COVID. A tremendous amount has been published on COVID, both acute and long. Unfortunately no clear solutions or reliable treatments are evident. In science in general and especially in medicine (and social psychology) a whole lot gets published that's very low quality and/or fails to hold up to close scrutiny. And like ME/CFS I won't be surprised to see practitioners arise who are basically selling snake oil. As desperate as you may feel, be wary. I wish you the best.

Charles Carter

Administering proton pump inhibitors under the conditions of tissue hypoxia is dangerous as it may lead to further worsening of neurological symptoms and eventually to dementia. Proton pump inhibitors suppress ATP production, exactly the opposite direction to what we want when we talk about overcoming the consequences of hypoxia.

Shadow Master

How This Device Safely Removes Blood Clots | Tech Insider https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWAXOD29YDU helpful possibilities, it's likely that Dianna, husband family and friends have and are continually looking into all kinds of innovative treatments.

Richard Pearce

They have discovered that the symtoms may be blood-related. Specifically, the shape of a normal red blood cell should be oval or rod-like, but with patients with long-covid tend to have circular or spherical shape, which tend to cause clogs preventing a free flow of blood cells. And because the various organs need oxygenation, these clogs are actually causing mini-strokes throughout the various organs of the body as was determined via a post-mortem autopsy of deceased covid-19 patients. This would lead one to believe that a complete blood replacement therapy may provide some relief, even if only a temporary one. A repeat therapy may be necessary if successful. Here is a partial copy of the article from Medical News Today: The latest study Now, the same team has released a preprint outlining details of a further cohort of 845 people with long COVID. The team analyzed blood samples from 70 people with confirmed long COVID to detect microclots. The authors also outlined a 1-month-long dual antiplatelet therapy for 24 people with long COVID. The therapy involved the participants taking 75 milligrams (mg) of Clopidogrel and 75 mg of Aspirin once each day before breakfast. They also received 5 mg of the direct oral anticoagulant Apixiban twice daily and 40 mg each day of a proton pump inhibitor called Pantoprazole. They took Pantoprazole half an hour before eating their main meal to protect the stomach. The participants took these drugs under strict medical supervision to mitigate severe side effects. The participants provided a list of symptoms before and after treatment, and the researchers took blood samples at the end of the month of treatment. The team found that all 70 participants had microclots in their blood and that all 24 people who received the antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapy reported improvements in their long COVID symptoms; they also saw a reduction of microclots. Your strength is an inspiration to all of us, Dianna. Sending virtual hugs and real love from Brooklyn, NY. 💜

Andi B

That was so hard to watch, but thank you for sharing. Dianna can eventually grow her hair long again, and in the meantime I hope she'll be more comfortable. It breaks my heart to see her like that. I wish her and all of you with her, great continued courage in getting Diana well again.

Jean-Philippe Suter

Keep fighting. Thanks for sharing and all the best.

Sergio Ivanov

Thank you for sharing! Sending prayers for you, keep pushing :)

Mihir Saspara

Oh the poor little star I hope she gets better, good riddance if her hair were annoying her. Missing her and wishing her the best the sooner, and Kyle you are a very good man and it's beautiful to see the grace you get her with, I hope this all will disappear in very little time and we can ll get back to watch her take us through her passionate journey.

Andrea Spada

This world needs more people like Dianna, Saw Simone's video and inspired to help! It would be such a terrible and tragic unfortunate heart break and loss to see such an awesome and truly inspiring and positive person pass away. Big fan of the channel and presenter in general. My heart also goes out to your family and friends I certainly hope that you are able to seek out and also find world class and innovative treatments... For what ever it's worth I am certainly looking forward to and visualizing a healthy and positive future!

Richard Pearce

Still thinking about you. Us silly Humans really need what you do. Anything to make us understand the world around us!

Kevin Reardon

Sending my support every day!!

Dawn Wirts

Sending my best wishes to all of you.

Doug Campbell

It feels so bad. Hope she gets better really soon

tr7zw

Thank you for sharing. May you both endure and keep your hope. ❤️‍🩹

ViolinDancer

Exactly what I was thinking. Plausibly, MCT could be a source of energy that avoids whatever it is that her condition is affecting. Or it could do nothing at all. Worth asking about I think.

Drake Coker

I hope your wife will get a proper treatment soon. It's hard to expect the help on LH COVID from a doctor around the corner but there are quite a few places around the web where people are finding the ways to recover. Being a recovered covid long-hauler myself, I can point you to a few proven directions if you so desire. Just let me know if you need the info.

Shadow Master

Keep kicking there Physicist Girl!

Kevin Reardon

Thanks for the update. We are praying for Dianna and all the people taking care of her. May the force, the energy and the momentum be with you!!

Sonia Castro

Get well soon Diana. Like a lot of people I wish you the best and look forward to your return to YouTube.

Nish Nalbandian

Now with your hair shorter and Simone’s hair getting longer, I’m gonna be mixing you two up all the time now! So inconsiderate. (hoping the haircut helps manage the day to day better and you keep heading on to recovery!)

Luis Torrefranca

Be Strong Dianna. Hair will grow back. I pray for you to recover quickly.

Raghuram Narayan

Praying for you every single day, and I am far from religious. Your incredible joyous personality is missed by all.

Joseph Murphy

go girl!

Serafim T

hey i understand the cutting of hair to. im in bed pretty much 24/7 im only up in my chair or in the bathroom. i feel weeks ago i made the choice to go to super short. its so short i dont even need to brush it now. once im better it will grow bk

Bunny

She did it herself! Wow! What a gal! Love you both.

ViolinDancer

o no! so sad. But it will grow back stronger together with her. Hugs and best wishes from France. Stay strong.

Arnim Jenett

Thanks for the update! I hope she’ll get better soon!

Marvin Tran

LH has a ton of comorbidities (a pre-review paper about 2 years ago claimed 200+!) and my wife was diagnosed with dysautonomia, as you mentioned. The 'different kind of LH' I mentioned is shorthand for, essentially, slightly differently flavored hell. We would have loved to receive treatment between 2020-2022, but most doctors thought LH COVID was tantamount to hysteria.

zak t

Sending love from Australia.

Damian Glover

oh man, i totally get it! long hair can be annoying any time, nevermind while having to feel icky. good for her, chop it off, it'll be be back before you know it -- just like you will, pretty! ☺

Nobody Nothing

Unfortunately, exercise can cause damage in ME/CFS and make things much worse. Some doctors don't even know this. It's extremely.important she have a doctor experienced in ME/CFS advising.

Kiki

It’s not something you probably wants to hear, but you are not alone! I am only slightly better than what you are. I had COVID in 2021, and did some major brain damage, and live with long COVID myself. On top of that, I had chronic illnesses that made life challenging before I had COVID. The first thing did after I got really sick, the first time, is shave my head. A hair cut is one of the simplest ways to make your life easier, at least in my opinion. It doesn’t matter if you’re bald or have hair to the floor, any person is beautiful, because of their spirit and tenacity. Just know you’re not alone, and that there are others fighting the same thing. When I first got sick, with my main chronic illness 10 years ago, I felt so alone, and that no one could or ever would understand my struggle or my pain. Now I know, I am not alone, and that as much as I don’t want my pain and struggles to be felt by others, someone out there gets what I am doing through. There are many resources and helpful people willing to help. I could see the IVs and the home health care on some of your updates, and know that those people and their care are the very best of humanity can give. Here’s to another round of IV fluids, for some reason those fluids hit different. I hope we both can start getting back to a better place, because I can tell you and I are cut from a similar cloth. The kind of cloth than might knock us down, for a moment or two, but we will jump up and fight back stronger than ever!

Allyssa Buthmann

still beautiful, anyway :-) hang in there!

Carlo Toniolo

Love that she's moving and motivated to do this! Blessing on Dianna and her amazing, loving family.

Brian Burleigh

it is sad to see her this way. but good to see she is doing things herself. i hope she can get mad at you for posting this very soon. stay strong ppl.

BrainlessSteelNL

I've had PVFS, which I suppose is the acute version of CFS. It was extremely debilitating, but for me and for Dianna it should eventually be a memory. A bad memory to be sure, but still just a memory.

Ed Luck

when confronted with fatigue, my brain jumps to medium chain triglycerides(MCT - Kokunut oil for example) or maybe even Ketones as an alternative way to get energy into the cells. seems to sometimes help with dementia and other forms of fatigue. if any long covid sufferers have experience with it, please share.

Thomas Herzog

i hope she is getting her daily physical therapy. after such a long time lying down, her muscles can atrophy to the point where she is bed ridden even if long-covid disappeared today.

Thomas Herzog

Zak, pardon me for interrupting the discussion, but the metabolic, autoimmune and vascular disturbances caused by postcovid can cause both kind of reactions: hyper and hypo. They are not different kinds, they both are extremes that occur due to nervous system damage caused by metabolic derailment. This leads to so called dysautonomia - inability of the body to adequately control its vital functions. It is often accompanied by other neurological manifestations - brain fog, depression, burning/tingling/numbing sensations, especially in the limbs, panic attacks, shortness of breath, gait disturbances, dysphagia, and most of all, chronic fatigue. If left untreated, it can progress to cognitive impairment and other ominous complications.

Shadow Master

The hair will grow back, it helps her to get through this and this is what is important. Diana, you will make it. Period.

Artyom

I'm new here but have followed Dianna's channel for some time. I'm truly sorry that she is going through this, and hope for healing soon. Over the years, I've found that there are times when I'm feeling stuck, overwhelmed, etc., changing something in my life helps give me a new perspective on things. Perhaps cutting her hair can help bring some positive changes. I wish for better days for you.

John DeJarnatt

respect to kyle, from man to man been suportive on long time illness takes a lot of courage.

Alfredo Rivera

Dear Dianna, your friends and family are probably scraping through all the science already. I recently saw an article about new gene markers of Postcovid. In Postcovid with fatigue etc they found hypermethylation on the DNA, i think, and the hypermethylation causes a malregulation of numerous central receptors, e.g. histamine, angiotensine, ... people who fully recover from Covid don't have that hypermethylation. https://clinicalepigeneticsjournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s13148-022-01398-1 Because all these findings are so new and the studies still small it will take forever before they can recommend anything on this basis. My grandpa has Postcovid, too, and I am now experimenting with certain foods to help him. My first trial is tomato soup, because it liberates histamine in the body. If that doesn't work, we'll try Sauerkraut. Or anything else fermented. Just get the histamine in. If that doesn't work, I'll try the other direction and give him benadryl to block the receptors but somehow it seems antiintuitive to me that that should work. I will return with my findings. Please stay strong! We love you very very much

Lynn

Im glad the she is okay;at all;that stuff is awful.

Jonathan Hart

I don't mind sharing, it's probably good for me. My wife had a different version of LH than Dianna's ME/CFS: Dianna has brachycardia whereas my wife experienced the opposite and had a resting HR of ~140bpm. As of a year ago, she was experiencing longer and longer periods of normalcy but still had frequent days or weeks of tachycardia, insomnia, brain fog, and other random symptoms.

zak t

It's heartbreaking to see her (or anyone) suffer like this, and go from being so vital to so helpless. My continued prayers for recovery!

Walter L Wimer III

Did Dianna practice cutting her bangs with safety scissors when she was little? Your Mom asks did you cut your hair? Hang in there with new bob!

CTOCSE8

I'm kinda hesitant to ask, and feel free not to answer, but... How is she doing now? And how was she a year ago? I really don't mean to pry. LH COVID is just a fear of mine, yet I don't know a whole lot about it.

Joey

Kyle is such a hero. I can't even imagine the strength it takes to be such a rock for Dianna. She picked a good guy there!

Adam Barry

Great to see even a small bit of recovery atm. I know this might sound silly, given her health right now, but please make sure the hospital does a FULL blood count, including vitamin B9/B12,C,D, iron levels etc. Covid can have a terrible effect on vitamin levels and all sorts, as the body tries to prevent the virus replicating, it uses up far more vits. Some hospitals don't even do a full blood count unless you specifically demand it.

ElectronAsh

You are both strong and you can do this!

Chad Freeman

That a rally hair cut! It time to turn this thing around!! Go Dianna!

Kit Lammers

My wife is/was a COVID longhauler and she also cut her hair while in the thick of it. The horror of LH COVID is not something I can describe in words. It breaks my heart to see another LHer suffer this way, which sometimes carries on for an entirely unreasonable amount of time (~2yrs in my wife's case) but you can't lose faith that the nightmare will eventually end and you will do normal things again. -hang in there, lean on your network, and feel free to reach out to my wife and I (via this account) if you'd like.

zak t

Hang in there, Dianna. There's a whole lot of us that have your back.

Michael Sperry

We are here for you for the long term. Much love.

Sarah Kaylor

You’ve done so much for science, I’m confident that science is going to come through for you. Hang in there Diana! You’re a trooper and a rockstar. 🤩

Go guuurl! Whatever it takes to make it easier for you and to help you get to safe recovery. Kyle, I will talk with my kids about what it means to love someone and use your name as reference. These are tough times brother, keep up the good work and remain resilient. I for one admire hard work and it can't get any harder. So: kudos to you.

Víctor Sánchez Ramírez

I just wanted to add something to what I wrote before. Your family is amazing too! And I can't believe how awesome your husband is. God bless you all and take care and we are rooting for you Dianna!!! You will get better!! Soon!! ☘️☘️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Also, you are very brave to cut your hair and you're just very brave period! You are totally awesome! Love from all of us.

Judith A Mueller

Sending love from the bottom of my heart ❤️

Valerie Steinhaus

still beautiful

Richard Baccus

It is heartbreaking to see the normally vibrant and bubbly Dianna like this. Is this due to covid, or an adverse reaction to the vaccine?

Hugo Miller

We love you baby girl 💕

John R Benavides

the hair will grow back. But it is important, that Dianna will get better, hopefully soon. It hurts to see her like this and I can only imagine how it must feel for her family. I really hope she will feel better soon and in a few months it will feel like a bad dream but it's over. Thanks for keeping us updated! And F**K Covid!

Christoph S.

I'm not religious so I don't pray, but my hopes and thoughts about Diana's recovery are on the top of my day every day. Let's beat this!

Aldo Zampatti

Still brilliant, still beautiful, still making good decisions. We're all pulling for you Physics Girl :-)

Rick Goheen

Pretty even cut there!! 👍👍 Two thumbs up.

Jack Roach

😢 Take all the time you need to heal. We aren't going anywhere. Pretty

Jack Roach

Hair grows back, comfort and reduced stress are far more important. Take care of yourself, we're all pulling for you!

Rick Ashcroft

Hang in there D from another long hauler. You can do this.

Kirby

I have been intrigued in recent days by this proposal that's been making some news regarding the possibility that Dark Energy might be produced by Black Holes! Wouldn't That be stunning? It would take a Lot of evidence to make that stick of course, but its a fascinating idea... and I can't help but wonder if there might be some fundamental difference in the properties of space that exists BETWEEN galaxies, where gravity is a relatively rare phenomenon. I hope soon you might again speculate with us on these things!

Jeff Greenlee

Hang in there guys

Rick Estrada

I feel for you all and hope Diana gets better.

Stefan Alenius

bloody COVID

Howard Simons

Stay strong! Someday you will look back and say "remember when..." My wife fell into a deep depression right after I got married and couldn't function for quite a while. It was a confusing and difficult time for me because I had never dealt with anything like that before and didn't know what to do. She almost overdosed on anti-depressants because they made her so out of it she couldn't keep track of how much she was taking. A scary time. Now she is better with no drugs and we can look back at that difficult time knowing just how strong we can be.

Aaron Bono

Dianna, I pray for your recovery and return to Physics Girl when you can. I am patient and I will be right here whenever you can. Meanwhile, I am happy to help any way that I can. Love a fan.

Richard Morton

Sending you lots of love. I hope that your energy begins to return soon. I have been where you are with Chronic Fatigue and it is awful. Thinking of you and watching some old videos. I love the one where you're up north tromping through the snow. I've learned things from you that other physics shows haven't been able to get through. Keep fighting. I believe in you.

Veronica Lacquement

Aww Diana

Tianze Li

Likewise. This must be difficult in so many ways! Thanks to Diana’s husband for taking the time to involve us here, as well.

Daniel Burt

What an incredible message, thanks for sharing the insight you’ve gained along the way.

Daniel Burt

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Looking forward to seeing your smiling face again in the future. You will be better!!!!!

CobraPilot45

Keep pulling through, Diana! You’ve got this!

Daniel Burt

Here’s something to think about as you get better: What if red-shifting of distant galaxy starlight is not due to an expanding universe but caused by Doppler effect outbound solar neutrinos have on inbound starlight❓I think we could test this comparing Voyager’s JPL DSN communications frequencies (outbound vs inbound Z-adjustments). I have 2 school-aged daughters that I hold talented girls like you as examples to follow. We need you to get better… get better! ❤️‍🩹

Hal McKinney

Just want you to know that I’m praying for you every day🙏🏽✝️💚🍀

Katey

As men, we rarely understand or recognize the amount of time and effort that long hair requires…

Alan Crews

Bless her heart it's great news no more E.R, I'm sure she wouldn't of wanted to cut the hair but I bet it'll be a huge relief not being tangled in it while trying to rest. Best wishes to you all and hope for as swift a recovery as possible. Thanks for the updates :)

Edward Bacon

Positive vibes and healing vibes coming from al over the world to you Diana! Thanks to family, friends and your strength, I know you will make it out of this. Stay strong! You will feel better soon!

Gustavo Curi Amarante

Cutting your hair is a good idea. It can be a lot to maintain it (i know from my own experience), and the shorter it is, the easier it is to maintain. Your energy is way better spent resting and recovering. Sending well wishes and love to all.

Alina Gatria

I am wishing Dianna, her family and all her support team all the best. I know she will return to making content for us in the future. <3

Wynter

You are in my thoughts and I am hoping for the best for you!

Eric Levine

We are happy you are still with us and and better! Sending you some love too! 🥰

Nora

We love you Dianna! Also we love Kyle, amazing husband! Wont forget family and friends, we love you all! Hei, at least Dianna can move a little and cut her hair, it grows back and i am happy to see her moving like that :) Its a good thing she does not need to go to the ER ❤️ Hugs to Dianna, Kyle and everybody in her life 🥰🥰

Nora

Just sharing positive vibes, I am glad I support you. I hope you both will be able to stay strong and I am sure the better days will come.

Mickaël Godard

I’m celebrating my “Alive Day” by joining your Patreon, knowing that you will celebrate your Alive Day too. A year ago I was hospitalized with brain lesions (a rare autoimmune disease called C.L.I.P.P.E.R.S. - go fig!). Things looked bad, we didn’t know if I’d wake up, but the morning of 3/17/22 I did, and have gotten better ever since. I spent many hours on the couch with my eyes closed, so those images of you really ring a bell. But slowly, things got better. I’m almost back to normal now. The body is strong and you have so much to live for that you can go through this difficult time knowing that you really will recover. Sending love and hope to you and your family!

Ame Stanko

Sending positive thoughts your way! Dianna is fortunate to have found such a loving man who has dropped everything to take care of her. I hope the brightest and most qualified doctors are giving her the very best treatment possible! Hang in there…and remember that the caregivers need to also be cared for! 🥰

Cyndee Wing

Love you Diana! Hope you feel better soon.

Sean Dickinson

Hoping you make forward progress (is that redundant?) Thanks for the updates!

Mark Medonis

Sending all the best to all of you! Glad to hear Dianna's able to stay home rather than go to the ER. Fingers crossed for you all to get some relief and major recovery real soon!

Cole Peters

I'm for anything that makes you even the tiniest bit more comfortable, Dianna. Kyle, please use some of the Patreon funds to make things easier for you, too. Sending healing energy to you both.

Sue L’Hommedieu

Sending love to Dianna's husband, on top of love for Dianna herself-- some days our caregivers are going through more than those who need care!

tinyengineer

Don't worry about the heart meaning positivity, heart just means love, and yours is in the right place! <3

tinyengineer

It pains me to see such a normally happy, vibrant, curious person so sick. Get Well Dianna. Looking forward to the day when you can post a science video.

Brian Uhrig

Oh Kyle, I hope you are getting TLC and help from friends. I hope the shorter hair feels much better for Dianna. Sending so much love to you both

Heidi A

Sending all my love from Argentina. Diana, get better soon.

Matias Buselli

I hope she gets better soon, I was fortunate enough to recover from my blood condition in only a week but that was one of the worst weeks of my life. I feel for you Diana! <3

Dec 35

Poor thing!! I feel so sorry for her! Please do two things - give her a big hug from a big fan, and then take that hair out of the trash and give it to a company that makes wigs. Some cancer patient somewhere would love to have it, and I'm sure that Dianna would love to see it re-used rather than just thrown away.

Craig Allen Corson

Sending positive thoughts, Diana seems in great hands. Get well soon !!! ❤️

Jason Langevin

Maybe you can sell/give those hair cuttings to a wig maker. Anyone who puts it on would probably double their IQ instantly. ❤🎓

Rick Bamford

I don't know if anyone else has already mentioned this (as I write this, over 250 people have responded to this video), so apologies in advance if I'm repeating someone else's words here... Kyle, remember to take care of yourself as well. Caregiver burnout is a very real thing. You know that thing that they do on airplanes where they say, "Put on your own oxygen mask first, then help others"? There's a reason for that: the helper cannot help if he/she is ill or unable to assist. So please, for the sake of both Dianna and yourself, be sure to get adequate rest, exercise, and good food. You will both get through this, in time. Love and respect.

Morgan Fisher

I am rooting for Diana to get better soon...and encouragement and strength to everyone there talking care of her.

William ODell

Didn't want to click the heart because I didn't want to convey that it's a positive thing to have to deal with everything Dianna is managing right now, but did want to send love and support. ❤️

Eric Friedman

You're a huge inspiration, Diana. Like many others I've watched your videos on YouTube for a long time and learned sooo much about so many different things from you. I'm heartbroken knowing you're unwell, and I hope you get better soon. You're amazing and you've made such a wonderful impact on so many people.

Draezha

I agree that her being comfortable is most important! Hair grows back. Or maybe she will like it short. Either way, I am glad she was feeling well enough to cut her hair. That is great. I love the taking away her phone so she has to focus on resting. Good job sir

Suzanne Strickland

If an extraterrestrial civilization ever made contact with earth I'd choose Dianna to represent us in a heartbeat. She represents everything that is good about humanity. I know it's a silly thing to comment on a video about her being sick, but that's the biggest compliment I can think of. Get well soon Dianna.

Dan Skøtt

Really hoping for Diana to recover her energy and strength. I can't think of anyone less deserving, not that anyone really deserves to go through this. I am not sure and just wanted to put this out there in case it had even a chance to help, but if the energy levels are at all related to nutritional intake and digestion, for me, MCT oil helps give me energy when I can't otherwise digest food effectively. MCT oil is medium chain triglycerides which are turned by the liver directly into energy (ATP), without the need for bile or a completely functional digestive system otherwise. It also skips the lymphatic system for quicker absorption. It's found in coconut oil, though pure MCT oils are available at Costco and Amazon. When I'm having digestive and related energy issues (not that it's related to ME/CFS), it helps me feel better.

Michael Hart

Of course! Yah I'm just trying to include anything thats technically an *update*. And It's hard to know/remember what everyone else knows about her current situation across youtube and patreon. Her phone used to be the one thing she kind of had that she would use often throughout the day, and now that is being limited in order to help her health. I hope anyone reading this feels comfortable to ask questions if they are confused. The comments help me understand what people are thinking/wondering.

Dianna Cowern

Diana's videos always make me smile. It's so frustrating to see her like this and not be able to return the favor. Love you guys! ❤️

Nick Salve

I hope she's eating well.

Lawrence Tate

Thanks for the response. It was kind of out of context in the video, and I appreciate the explanation. I wasn't sure how to ask without it coming across wrong so I just went for direct.

Christopher Masto

❤️❤️ She doesn’t deserve this. We all just want you to recover Diana! You got this❤️❤️ So glad she’s not at the hospital😭 TY for sharing❤️

London St.Andrews

(Levi typing) Thanks for asking, I guess it's good to make that clear. Dianna's intake of information, or "processing power" if you will, is a big leading factor into what makes her crash in the days to come. During this illness, she cannot watch movies, she can't even listen to audio books or she will crash hard. So she usually tries to spend her days doing research on Long COVID and MECFS. But her family is starting to draw hard lines in not letting her use her phone too much, in order to help her health. Using her phone to learn or watch anything is like the brain equivalent of exercising while injured, it just makes it worse.

Dianna Cowern

Thoughts and well wishes out to Diana. You are an inspiration to everyone and we love you.

Dennis Weddig

I am unsure what to say, I know a few people who have or have had long-COVID but none who have been so sick. Get well soon!!! If necessary or helpful shave your head; the hair will grow back and it can be a fashion statement 😁

Mark Dakins

Get well soon. Your videosare an inspiration to me and both my girls. (4-5). Kitchen experiments are a weekend tradition in my house thx to you. Thx you.

Kl4nked

I am thinking of her and wishing her the best. I hope she does whatever it takes to be comfortable.

Timothy Condon

Spirit connects us all, so I humbly and respectfully request and invoke Spirit to watch over and heal Dianna and to bless those who watch over her.

Barclay Milne

Having seen family members go through similar situations, the emotional trauma of the loss of control of your life that comes with being bedridden is huge. Just being able to choose to do something, even cutting your own hair, in additional to being practical, may provide a small bit of comfort. What was up with the thing about not being allowed to use the phone, though?

Christopher Masto

It was a game-changer for my wife, who siffers from fibromyalgia, which has similar characteristics to chronic fatigue syndrome

David Castro

It might help her morale knowing that her hair was donated to the organization that uses it to make wigs for people undergoing chemotherapy. Please look into this prospect.

Bil Seymour

I'm struggling to find words...I'm sure it was a relief to cut all that length off, but I'm also sure it was painful to do so...thinking of you all every day <3

Stephanie Deppe

I had no idea long covid could get this bad. It reminds me of when my wife was battling cancer. I'm heartened to know that Dianna has such good caregivers and so much support. Hang in there!

Sam Cates

Keep fighting Diana! Hoping you will start feeling better soon!

Stephen Miron

All the love 🫶

Extremely painful to watch but thank you for sharing just the same.

John D'Aversa

Thank you. She's very much on my mind. Lots of love to you.

Charles Drum

hugs and love ❤️

Matt

Heartbreaking. Not so much for the hair, it’ll grow back. But to see her so wiped out… 😢. Continued best wishes for recovery.

David Melendrez

Get well soon!! My thoughts and well wishes are with you!

John Tyler

Get well soon!

Peter Kelly

Sending hugs and all the good juju. Please take care of YOU as well, Kyle. You are an amazing husband and friend.💜

Susan Schaible

Both of you Hang in there!!! Obviously, this won't be over quickly... :(

Dale Allen Platt

Has she tried abilify? It works for a lot of me cfs patients.

zudasworld

I'm loving this as a little act of rebellion. Or self care. Either way, thanks for the glimpse.

Chipowski

Bless her loyal caregivers. She is lucky to have such loving support.

John Parry & Laura Goldman

Get well soon. We support you and we will be waiting for you when you get better 💫

Katie Lacy

Sending our love.

D L

Just hang in there - we are all rooting for Dianna. ♡

Nigel D Perels

Hey guys, thinking of you every day. It’s hard to watch at first, but I like to see she makes such a priority driven decision. Stay strong!

Florian Reiser

Sending digital hugs. Her comfort and wellness matters more than something that can grow back.

Page Sparks

Hair is highly over rated. The Bald Guy

RUSSELL BURNS

Tough. My wife is also recovering from COVID. I hope for her full recovery. Peace and happiness to you both.

Leslie Davis

Hair grows. I know how utterly awful it is to feel like you’re losing a part of yourself. I went through chemo for bc when I was 35 and I cut all my hair myself because I wanted it to be my choice and not just happen to me. You do you. You be you. And when you come through all of this (which you totally will) you can grow your hair back down to your ass. No problem. Love and light. :)

Strega Nona

poor woman and loving husband 🙏

Joseph Lapinski

Praying for you Kyle, too!

LJ Jones

a *bunch of ways!

LJ Jones

This all breaks my heart. I hope things take a turn for the better soon. ♥️♥️

SomeGirl EH

She did the right thing and can go shorter if she wants too. Big big hugs to her, you and her husband. LC/MECFS hurts everyone involved. Good call on no phone too ❤️

Centralperk

It will grow back :)

Arturo Rosas

Sending Dianna (and you) all possible love and good wishes.

WestieNZ

Even in the midst of such sickness, I'm amazed by how... Dianna? she still is. You can feel a sort of internal strength radiating out of her in those clips—like, it's clear she's suffering, but she's also very much still *there* and fighting. Best wishes Dianna, you're freaking awesome.

Kai Christensen

Get better soon!

William J. R. Fickas

She’s definitely showing strength in a inch of ways!!

LJ Jones

Long hair or short, she’s still beautiful, and I hope she gets out of these woods soon. More thoughts and prayers for her and all of you with her!
