Dianna Health Update - September 2024

It’s been a couple months since the Live-Stream. Dianna is still in bed of course, but she’s hanging in there. She also had a recent procedure which went well! Kyle and I have been working extra hard to keep her on the mend.

RECENT PROCEDURE - Last month Dianna had something called Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB). For the SGB, a doctor injects a numbing agent into a nerve bundle called the stellate ganglion located in the neck. Ouch! The goal of the procedure is to calm her sympathetic nervous system, which can be overactive in some long covid patients. The treatment is very safe, and has been used for many years to treat a variety of different diseases. As a result of the treatment, Dianna saw improved energy, reduced brain fog, and reduced MCAS symptoms.

After the nerve block, Dianna onboarded a variety of foods and supplements that previously caused MCAS reactions. Including turkey! Though Dianna is still severely ill, these are things she can now tolerate which she couldn’t one year ago. There’s hopeful progress happening there. It's a win, but still a small step overall.

I(Levi), have been staying away from Dianna after getting sick on and off the past month. We are doing everything we can to keep her safe and stable while she heads towards the two-year mark of being bed-bound. As always, none of this can be done without the support from Patreon here. But on a personal note, all the messages we receive here that share stories of people being bed-bound for years and eventually standing up truly give me hope. It means the world to me to hear stories like that of people recovering. I really appreciate the community here and I just can’t thank everyone enough.
