LoS Style Test
Added 2024-10-02 04:00:03 +0000 UTCTook all the stuff I learned so far and finally had the courage to try it with my usual lineless style, all in CSP. Used a mix of frame by frame and tween animation and stuck with a simple concept. I think I got both of the animation styles to blend together pretty well on rouge and for background elements I just used simple tweens for the wind.
Not sure if I'm gonna stick with lineless or lined for animating. hell, i may just flip flop as the mood / animation themes strikes me. either way, working with hard lines has defiantly helped me improve my skill and has made making lineless artwork a lot easier (I'd normally paint the shape with larger brushes then cut out what's not needed or rely heavily on vector layers on csp. I've never been really confident in my linework until recently)
I know that I favor styles like samurai jack and the like, but to get there I'm probably gonna have to take a moment away from drawing expansion and character art and put in the time to learn background design. if it goes like learning lined artwork techniques went, I'm sure to make some pretty interesting stuff and to be honest, I'd like my background work to be close to, if not just as good as my character work.
