Jan 2025 - What Should I Write Next?

Since this is a paid-subscriber-only post, I'm dropping a note at the top to say that -- as I mentioned last month -- I've added a new experimental, limited membership tier that will allow you to sponsor a story from me. You can view the details in the membership tiers. No pressure -- since there are limited slots, I just wanted to make sure to plug it for you folks before everyone else.

---

This month is proceeding a little slower than I expected in terms of hitting my writing goals for stories, but word-count wise I've been very productive. Dungeon Mistress is out. Part 9 of the Therapist is also out. Chapters 4 and 5 of the Thaumaturge, as well as the accompanying poll for what happens next, are also out! All told, that's about 21k words of writing in January already (although, to be fair, much of Part 9 of the Therapist got written last year.)

Later this month, I'm hoping to release the next chapter of A Hospital Stay; I imagine getting that done will take me close enough to the end of the month that any other writing isn't likely to get released until February. If I have more bandwidth, it'll go towards more progress on the Thaumaturge.

So, with all that said, here's what's on the docket for February already:

...and that's it, for now. I haven't made any other decisions yet. I'm leaving some flexibility to decide between ongoing series and new ideas, as well as for sponsored stories if those come in. With February being a shorter month I also want to be realistic about what I'll get done.

That said, you, dear Readers, will pick at least one additional thing I'll write in February. What should I write next? Vote in the poll below or drop a comment if you've got other suggestions. It's mostly series this time, but I included the runner-up stand-alone story from last month in case that's something folks still really want to see. (Don't worry, every option on here is probably getting released eventually.)

Thanks again for supporting me.

Usual disclaimer: this isn't my day job! It's all bandwidth-dependent. If I end up with a busy month I may get to less than I plan; if I end up with a lot of free time, I may get to everything on the list and then some. If something new strikes my fancy, I may write it even if it's not on the list. If I start something that I thought was workable and hit writer's block, it may not get done. But I will take your recommendations seriously.
