My concept designs for Hugh's parents back in the late 70s
In the Kidverse AU, Hugh lived in a small household with both parents and his grandfather (Rupert's dad) who sometimes watched over him.
Rupert worked with pharmaceuticals at a hospital while his wife Veronica was a schoolteacher.
They didn't make a lot of money but they worked hard for the most important thing they had, their son.
Hughie meant the world to them, and they made sure he knew it by allowing him to be the best version of himself every day.
They didn't care that he didn't have typical boyish interest like playing football or playing in mud. If their little boy scout was happy staying inside, cleaning with mother or learning how to knit and sew, that was alright by them.
