For this specific illustration, I sketched the base silhouette from memory. Having drawn pinups numerous times, I find it somewhat easy to visualize the general pose I want to put on the canvas. Once the sketch was finished, in order to shape the details, I made a reference collage of four different pictures, plus some pictures of my own hands, to have on the side as guides whenever I needed some visual aid. To render, I applied my very basic understanding of light. In general, I like to observe the form from real life (preferably) or from photos, memorize what I can, then apply it, with the occasional help of references for elements that are less familiar. I am not terribly concerned with accuracy/realism, as long as the result doesn't look "broken" and has appeal. That being said, I am not great at anatomy, so please do not treat this as a guide. It is merely how I, someone who is allergic to studying art books, have personally learned to draw over the years.

Nat, how did you approach getting to this point with your interpretation of anatomy? I see that you have confidence and freedom in recreating the female body. You stylize but maintain body realism in some places.
