Hey everyone!
Lots of things to go over. Here are the main details:
Our base tier has dropped to $5, down from $9. Our Foundry tier has dropped to $9 from $15. If you're currently on a higher priced tier, make sure you adjust your payment down to the new lower tier.
If you're an early bird, you're already paying these prices. We're trying to figure out how we want to handle making sure the early birds don't feel burned - there may be more tier changes to come.
We've been feeling for a while now that by trying to make 30 monsters a month, we were really starting to "churn them out" in some cases, to the point where we felt that we didn't think each individual monster was as creative or as useful as we would've liked it to be. Many of the monsters didn't have the "wow" factor we wanted to see.
So we're going to make less monsters. Three a week instead of seven. But each monster is going to be better. Each is going to get the care and attention that a boss monster would.
Each will be designed with quests and hunts in mind so that they immediately inspire you to create short quests featuring them. Every monster will have:
- a description of its breakable parts; optional combat options for parties to target specific areas of the monster to weaken it and create more dynamic combat
- a description of its origins
- a description of its motivation; what does the monster what? How will it come into conflict with the party or its environment?
- a description of its presence; what sounds, scents, or materials it leaves in its wake that can be used to track it and learn its identity
- a description of its vulnerabilities; what can the party learn about the monster that might help them in defeating it? A specific potion, perhaps, or a particular spell?
- a description of the monster's lair
- a description of rewards; items that can be recovered from the monster, with quick rules for harvesting
- a table of rumors; things that are said about the monster that may or may not be true
We hope you like it! Each monster will get its own PDF.

With that being said, we hope you enjoy our first release under this new format - the swordbearer.
The swordbearer is a corporeal spirit summoned by those who wish to get revenge on others who have committed horrible crimes. It manifests as a ten-foot-tall, troll-like creature with a hunched back, disproportionately long arms, and several dozen swords, axes, lances, and other bladed instruments impaled into its back. The wounds from these impalements never heal; blood oozes and drips ceaselessly from its flesh. The swordbearer wears an expressionless iron mask that has one eyehole covered. The other reveals a blood-shot eyeball that rotates wildly in its socket.
